Opening line - Illini

Lloyd did not. But he actually had to slow down to get to it. Still probably should have been a catch or an incompletion. But the other kid made a play. If you put that play into a computer simulation it likely doesn’t play out that way around 95% of the time.
I wonder if Dylan put a little less distance on that and/or other deep balls because of situations in the first couple games where Lloyd & others weren't running their routes at full speed.

There was at least one deep ball to Lloyd in one of the first 2 games that was overthrown because Lloyd was jogging for a few steps because he didn't think it would come to him.

Part of me wonders if the receivers are still adjusting to having a QB that will throw into tight windows or even throw them open when they’re well covered. Hopefully the message is being delivered that everything needs to be at 100% because the ball could go to anyone in the progression on any play.

It’s OK to critique Dylan. Bad throw. Lloyd ain’t the guy you’re throwing 50/50 balls to and you’re asking too much of him to win 50/50 balls. It’s OK to admit he’s still pretty one dimensional receiver too.
I’m not disagreeing with you in saying it was slightly under thrown, but you are flat out wrong if you are 100% blaming DR… which you are by saying “plain and simple”.

You are also flat out wrong by calling that a 50/50 ball. Plain and simple.
