Brand new festival in Central Oregon this year. fucking absurd lineup. (They're doing Shane Smith dirty with that billing tho, boys sold out Red Rocks this last year).

definitely going on Friday at least. I have a policy of not missing Turnpike shows within 6 hours, ever since their hiatus.

I have created a Ray Wylie Hubbard channel on my Pandora app over the past year. Most of these RDC boyz show up randomly as the station continues to accumulate the “thumbs-up” songs.

Sprinkle in some old Willie, Waylon, Merle & (weird) David Allan Coe and top it off with my all-time time, Jerry Jeff, and I’ve got a pretty damn tasty music catalog. (Doesn’t have to be ABB, Steely Dan and the Doobs all the time, I guess)

Really like most of the RDC music and had the RWH channel on for the entire three hour drive to Denver yesterday. Normally, Mrs Bomber would say something if she didn’t like what I had on and she never said a word except for one Willie song that was really twangy.

What is the song about the boys from Oklahoma that roll their joints too long and too thin? Love that song…….😂

Not as into music as I once was but Red Dirt/Texas Country was all i cared for.

Been to too many concerts to count, but by far the coolest venue out of them all for me was Gruene hall in New Braunfels. Dinged a smoke show of a 29 year old blonde after watching James McMurtry that night.

Second favorite was Hangovers Ball at the wormy Dog in OKC. Nothing but acoustic shows by most of the big names of the 2000s like Cody Canada, Boland, Bleu Edmonson, Brandon Jenkins, and Stoney Larue to name a few.

Another favorite of mine I haven't saw mentioned was the Great Divide.
Well…..I’m only 2+ yrs late in responding to this post but my daughter lives in Austin and, thanks to her and her husband, we’ve been to Gruene Hall 6 or 7 times over the past 10 yrs. Such a classic old building.

I was crushed when Jerry Jeff died because I had made it a high priority to see him play at Gruene Hall. #2 on my wish list is to see Ray Wylie Hubbard play there, so we’ll see if that happens over the next several months.

Btw……we were there a week before this past Christmas and caught one of the local bands. It was cold as shit in there but still more than half full and the music was solid.

We’ll go every time we’re in Austin…….😎

Brother that’s perfect for you! You can go smoke pot with other libs and talk about the worlds problems

another EP coming next week IIRC. guy has a lot of songs.

Who's everyone been listening to or seeing lately?

I've had a busy summer. Highlight was catching Turnpike, great show. Pining for some new stuff from those dudes.

Also saw Shane Smith & the Saints. These guys are big but they should be huge, they are so good. Rumblings of new music coming soon, they've already released a new single called Hummingbird. See them live if you can...also their fiddle player doesn't take a backseat to anyone.

Tomorrow I'm seeing Zach Bryan, Charles Wesley Godwin, and Morgan Wade. Zach is well known at this point, kinda looking forward to seeing Godwin just as much. his last album was sweet (he's from Kentucky but we don't get mad about that ITT). Morgan Wade flies under the radar a bit but she's this badass tattooed chick whose lived hard and has a great unique voice, love her.

I also recently discovered this young lady named Catie Offerman from New Braunfels whos an up and comer (has been opening shows for Parker McCollum). She only has a couple singles out so far BUT yall gotta at least check her Instagram, she is a dime. She's also classically trained on the fiddle and plays like 4 instruments, pretty talented.

some other names I'm feeling but need to dig into more from the Texas scene include Joshua Hedley, Matt Daniel, and Casey Chestnutt. American Aquarium also put out new music, haven't had time to listen thoroughly.

I totally forgot about this thread...stoopid stoopid me....This chick WAILS!!! such a dark song but cot dammit...stuck in my head now!!
