***Official Nebraska vs Illinois game thread ***

One team is making the same mental mistakes it has made for the past three seasons under the same HC. One team with a new HC is somehow making less. Advantage definitely not Frost there.

Seriously, if you were to watch the game with knowing nothing and you had to pick out the team with the first year HC, which would it be?

That last play of the half was definitely a doozy. You could have easily had your starting QB knocked out.
Is the consensus here that Frost has just never mentioned to our punt returners that they shouldn’t field a punt at the 3 yard line while running into their own end zone? Things like that, Martinez fumbling, missing open receivers, Tannor’s roughing penalty aren’t happening because Bret is a better coach. At some point you have to realize that Frost isn’t playing Madden here… these guys have to execute on their own. They’ve been in plenty of positions to do that so far, but they haven’t.

Agreed, Frost is coaching circles around BB and our players are at fault

Just summed up the post game press conference for everyone
All execution at this point. And we can still win this by two touchdowns. Long way from being over.

I think Cam just wants to make a play

Tannor was a little too juiced up

THIS. ALL OF THIS. Well said.

Frost may be many things, but he isn’t being out coached in this game. Period.

The only way to make the argument that we’re getting out coached is if you say “head coach recruits the players so their failures are the coach’s responsibility.”

Not being out coached at all. We don’t have a competent qb. Over throws on one td and at least a huge gain and then hands them 7 points.
