Trey Frahm & Jordy Bahl got engaged.

Their kids will come out throwing 110.
This is the type of genetic pairing we need to see more of if we want to return the Huskers to the top. Need to have a life skills session with our boys telling them not to date cheerleaders or small-town randos, but to select their life mates from the track team*, VB team, etc.

*but not distance runners.

@PonyBoy or someone else, can you explain what this means, or how this is going to affect nebraska

Previously, you only had 11.7 scholarships (let's just use 12 to keep it simple). Those scholarships could be broken out among your roster, so you could have several guys getting 25% of a scholarship or 33% of a scholarship. Very rarely, would a guy be able to get a full ride, like you're used to in Football.

Now the NCAA is giving you the ability to increase that 12 full scholarships to 34 full scholarships. That doesn't mean that you have to give 34 full scholarships. If you only have the money for 25, you can do that and still split them if you need to.

Bottom line, the SEC programs will automatically start handing out 34 full ride scholarships. The schools that don't have the money won't be able to do that.

To add to this....

Pretty much every player in the SEC & ACC were already on full rides with NIL off-setting the scholarship difference. Including walk-ons. Majority of the B12 was the same way, to my knowledge - minus UCF, KSU & KU.

Now, NIL will further separate the SEC & ACC from the rest of the pack. This benefits them the most. By far.

Nebraska can separate from other B1G schools with 34 full scholarships. I only expect a handful in the conference to do so. Nebraska, Michigan, Oregon, tOSU for sure. Illinois or Indiana should come close with Washington in the discussion.

Dannen has an opportunity to make a statement for Husker baseball.

@PonyBoy I'm curious if you have an inclination that Dannen is willing to step up here. If we went to 34 quickly, we would have a huge leg up on most of the B1G.

We've obviously discussed on here that the baseball budget is mediocre at best. Maybe this would be a big step in the right direction.

Bolt has 2 years remaining on his contract, nothing from Dannen. 3rd best resume, behind Savage & Waz, with the 7th or 8th highest pay & lowest contract length. We're suppose to have architects meet with the athletic department & coaches, nothing from Dannen. But hey, he did sign a 10-year deal with the Peed's/Wesleyan to use their field when Haymarket is unavailable. lmfao

So far, Dannen is worthless for baseball.

Damn. Can't wait until next year when we destroy the rest of the league in attendance (aka fan interest and commitment) and finish 8-10 in baseball budget. Yay.
