Official Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Offseason Baseball Thread

HB's starting 9, rotation & leverage guys looks good to me, not sure about the batting order though. Bolin should be our starting CF with Silva in LF as he has weaker arm strength & I feel Bolin can cover more ground with his reads. The staff loves them some Brumbaugh for sure, but I'd rather have a table setter who can move better.

Brumbaugh has by far the weakest arm of anyone floated for OF. And that's saying something as Silva's is below average.

Overbeek will need to hit to keep his spot in the lineup or Stokes is at 3B.
This lineup gonna have enough ‘pop’ in it outside of Gabe?

I’m hoping Case can provide a little more power in his second year and outside of Silva and unknown on Bolin pretty much everyone else has the ability it seems.

Think that’s the next step this team needs to take as we’ve seen that the teams with the most success in the postseason are able to maximize their runs per hits.

We hit 72 a year ago with something like 17 of them in the post-season. Damn near 25% of HR's for the season came in the last 9 games of the season. Partly due to facing B1G pitching over a 6-game tournament span.

We had 95+ the previous season, with a 1st & 2nd rounder, and didn't make the post-season.

Extending innings & hitting with RISP is what will make or break us, as it does any baseball team. Let's see if the switch to Sirianni running the offense makes a difference this season. I feel we're a little deeper, quality wise, on the bump this season so that should also play a factor in to things.

Last year it seemed like all of our HRs came in the same few games. I don’t disagree overall, but we also had a bunch of pivotal games that seemed like we just couldn’t break through with the big inning that was needed.

The run we made in the big ten tournament really seemed to rely on the few big swings we were getting from Caron and Swansen.

Improved clutch hitting in general would definitely make a big difference though.
