No kool-aid for me. I'm still full blown Debbie Downer and expecting a 4-8 type season. Maybe thrashing a nerd school will change my mind....but we also did that last year....

Same here....a little too much optimism has been floating around the last several days. Nothing a four point loss to NW as a 12 point favorite won't fix.

The thing that drives me up the fucking wall is the whole...."Well, we have a much easier schedule this year." Do we really? I mean, yeah, it looks easier on paper I guess...but we lost to fucking Illinois last year....If we can't beat those butt darts...It's hard for me to pencil in games as auto wins besides North Dakota and Georgia Southern...and personally, if they were still running their gun triple stuff....I wouldn't feel great about that game.

Exactly. Nebraska hasn't done jack shit the last several years to overlook anyone. The fan base is still delusional thinking "we have a much easier schedule" .... really? We couldn't punt the fucking ball in the right direction last season; let's maybe fix that before puffing out our chests thinking we're some world beaters that will dominate a schedule that includes Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers, and Minnesota....three of those teams beat NU the last time they played.

As I said earlier in this thread I watched it live in east lansing and the feeling I had the whole game was what are we going to do to lose this game….then the punt returned happened. It seems like this trend started under Bo in his last few years that I was just waiting for something to go wrong. No more koolaid….

They expect to lose, it's a real problem with their confidence. Then they go and do a ton of things wrong in the 4th qtrs of games to lose games that were 90%+ on the "win" side of percentages for us. Happened over and over. Lack of confidence, not good under pressure, expecting to find ways to lose, which they have done in multiple ways in multiple losses over the last 4 years.

What kills me is Michigan State had a game plan to put an extra returner on the other side of the field because the odds said we would fuck it up. And we did.

With another long offseason coming to a close, I figured this thread needed one more bump before this shit show gets underway.
I’d like to thank everyone who contributed negative reinforcement over the past 9 months. We’ve made tremendous progress, but based on the official prediction thread we still have some brothers who are lost. Unfortunately they will face the inevitable disappointment yet again, but you my brothers are prepared. When the excessive turnovers and 4th quarter collapses occur you can say you were ready. Go fourth and continue to preach the negative gospel. There is still much work to be done.
