Huskers seeing a ton of off-speed pitches. It had the first two hitters off balance. Nunez was ridiculously surprised when Washington pitcher Thomas reached back and brought 94 down the edge for strike 3.

Predictable mix from Washington as Thomas is throwing soft (for those not use to baseball language “soft” means off speed) until he gets in trouble and then he reaches into his back pocket and brings 94.

I know, we struck out 3 times last inning, but I do kind of like this match up for us their pitcher vs our hitters.

Walsh digs in and he’s quickly got a harmless ground ball to 2B and we are off and running into the 2I.

Silva needs to play center field. IDGAF if he strikes out every time. His coverage makes up for it

They simply can’t figure Walsh out. He did get barreled up on the 2B to the wall, but he missed his spot back over the plate. He’d just went in on the hands with 92 and he was trying to go back downstairs with a curve and the curve just didn’t move for him and it ended up off the wall.

But he quickly gets a soft fly to Carey and we are down in Washington’s half of the inning.

Brumbaugh took a really bad route trying to get to that ball. You could see him banana on the broadcast

Huskers barrel the baseball up twice in that inning, but it’s not led to any hits.

Carey worked that count deep before striking out as he saw 8 pitches.

Second time through the order for the Huskers will be when I think they’ll break through with some runs.
