Breaking No Martinez vs Cockeyes

I watched that on Youtube earlier. The ball is a bit of wobbler. If you watch the game we played against the FCS team he throw a deep ball to Betts I think, and that was a wobbler too if I remember.

Maybe his arm will get stronger if he's in the program for another year or two. He does seem to be decisive at least, but I said the same thing about McCaffrey last year and we all know how that turned out.

Wobbler or not, he hit the receiver in stride, which is something I'll take all day long.

I could see Smothers coming out and having some success early. Given that Cockeyes will have to adjust to how fast he is at QB. But once they adjust...I dunno. Gotta find a way to not get him killed.

Move the pocket a lot. Chip DE's. I dunno something because Adrian has gotten used to DE's being on him in 2 seconds. Smothers....not so much.
Why hasn't our goal ALWAYS been to move the pocket with an athletic QB who seems to do his best when he can see everything coming at him instead of feeling it? I will never understand why we didn't exclusively run sprint out stuff with Adrian.

What's more insane is that a 3-8 team was favored vs the #17 team in the nation and now they are playing with a backup QB and the line is only at -2 for the #17 team in the nation. I assume that line will keep moving. Probably would be good to bet Cockeyes at -2 right now. If you had Cockeyes moneyline yesterday you're probably feeling really good.

This season has been wild

The thing is… 14-20 points very well could beat Cockeye

It’s easier when your run game is more consistent. I really hate sprint out all the time at this level. Coaches are too good and if you make them defend half fields you’re in no better shape than you are with Martinez just running around improvising with the defense defending whole fields.

We move the pocket quite a bit. Some of our bigger plays have come as a result of Adrian rolling left and throwing back to Toure (Ohio St) once we read where the safety is gonna play.

I wonder if we will run more option this game with Smothers as QB.

Even if we assume that is factual, it doesn’t take an average defense to hold Cockeyes under 20.

Spin zone. Cockeyes also is playing a backup QB that was backing up a guy that wasn't any better than Martinez.
Cockeye fans believe Padilla is better of the 2 since he’s mobile. Both suck but they only have to make a handful of throws to win

9-7 will be the final score, no idea who wins tho. The D is gonna bring it I think, especially the seniors and CTB
