Breaking New President Announced - Dr. Jeff Gold

So if they hired this guy 2 weeks ago, would Turd have left to aTm ?

PHENOMINAL HIRE! Gold took over UNO when I was a student there. I met with him once or twice. My wife is a current MD/PHD student who has worked directly with gold and we both cant say enough good things about him.

It may not be shocking to see her program director become the chancellor of UNMC

Yeah since I wasn't paying attention up until last week, I assumed Gold was out of the conversation for some reason. He's such an obvious choice they could've/should've just hired him the next day after Carter left haha.

Now that we have the two glad-handers in place, and some extremely tailored statements will be released, and two press conferences full of the expected nomenclature will be espoused , can we get working on winning some fucking football games?

Blah blah blah shared vision blah blah blah leadership blah blah blah commonly held ideals blah blah blah Midwest values blah blah blah family environment blah blah blah build a solid foundation blah blah blah.

What steps have to be taken to get us back to AAU status?

Yeah the length of the process makes no sense to me in the end with ending up with Gold. Gold would have taken it right away as well as certainly being qualified.

This is the right hire to regain AAU status. A lot of money is at stake, research and donor. There is only so much to go around but AAU status is a pretty big deal to the BIG. If some donations shift from athletics to academics then it may slow down stadium expansion.

We are now combining UNMC and UNL expenditures which puts us at 64th in the country instead of like 122nd, should be a layup to get admitted back in now.
if not we have to be close, I’m assuming we are in direct contact with the big ten administrators and other AAU members about what we need to do to regain admission. I can’t think that if they say do this and this, then we actually get those things done that they wouldn’t re admit us.

There are also some research funds that need reallocating and administrative hires and personnel shuffling that is required. Probably some other behind the scenes stuff also
