I just think we are really selling ourselves short if we think we can’t do without a guy who is marginally effective on his very best days in the BIG 10 (and a downright detriment on his worst). He played significant minutes on a team that ended the season on an absolute tear and still couldn’t make the NIT. If he stays and plays waaay behind Keita sparingly, that’s fine but if he’s a significant contributor again I’m not hopeful for where the season is headed.
Can't do without isn't necessarily the same as should actively encourage to leave, fwiw

New Baron sucks worse than old Baron then.
Excited The Hills GIF

Does the Soriano tweet have any legs? Is that you Baron? Saw the reply about NIL. Would be the best news we've got in a long time.

That’s the thing. Wilhelm and Wilcher are only sophomores and we aren’t exactly known as a 1 and done program.

Wilhelm is one full year now removed from his major knee injury and I HOPE we saw Wilcher play basketball we can come to expect from him down the stretch this year.
Is Wilhelm your son or something? Your kid is fucking awful today and he’ll be awful 3 years from now.

I like Wilhelm because:

1. He’s a known commodity and I feel like the assistant coaches are good at developing players. Doesn’t seem like they can recruit a shit though.

2. He’s one year off of a knee injury.

3. He’s a big body who works hard
4. Seems like a good locker room presence. He’s usually really engaged in the sideline and it’s important to have glue guys like that.

this guy is posting a bunch of cryptic stuff about Nebrasketball transfers - I think this is the center from St. John's that is a monster on the glass?

6-11 260 and averaged 12 reb/game & 15 pts/game while blocking 1.4/game. And an added bonus, he shoots over 70% on Free Throws. Me likey. He had 18 rebounds against us.

Wilhelm is pretty awful today. But he's the kind of player that you will see on CBS in 2026 averaging 14 and 10 for San Diego State.

I bet the NCAA awards him an injury year of eligibility back for the 21-22 season. I'm indifferent about him staying or going, but I do think he can become a very productive college basketball player.

Coming off major knee surgery and still being somewhat productive this year in moments is why I want to give him more time. Due to his knee injury from the previous year, he was unable to improve his game during the offseason. I think he's healthy now, and I hope to see a nice improvement in his play next season.

He was still only a sophomore, and not every player is going to roll out of bed and be B1G ready.

It may be time to find a replacement if he remains the clumsy, turnover-prone player come next January.

He’s not exactly Horace Grant with those goggles on. It’s kind of you to want to see him develop but he was so awful that I don’t think he’ll ever develop enough to give us an edge from his position.

With Mike Anderson being fired, I assume a lot of teams will try to get him.

I’m skeptical that the portal is going to be ripe with bigs that are better that are willing to come to Nebraska. So cutting Wilhelm loose basically means you are down a big that played a good chunk of minutes.

I’m not sure what is so hard to understand about the point I’m making here. Help me identify where you need my help understanding.

NU doesn't need him to be Horace Grant though. I am willing to give some rope to a 6'9" 20-year old that tore his knee up last year. He couldn't participate or have a normal offseason last year due to his injury. You do not believe that would have an impact on his development?

The kid sucks! Moves like your grandma, or worse. I get that he’s a body and wobbled around the floor and got “minutes” but come on man…you really need this much help in this case?
