Everything I’ve been told is that there is no chance he’d take Nebraska. He’s interviewed for plenty of other P6 jobs but hasn’t gotten a new gig yet.

He’s a good enough coach he has the right to be picky, and I don’t think money is the end all be all for him.

Somebody representing Nebraska reached out to his agent last January to put out feelers (him and Forbes share an agent so that guys phone was busy)

For the record, he was the other finalist for K-State when they hired Tang. He’s come close

Yeah I’ve heard the same thing and being picky isn’t always a good thing. When you continually tell everyone no they stop asking and a lot of that could really depend on what jobs will be available after the season. He has been pretty close on a few jobs but what does he make now 400-600k? We are literally talking 10x his salary. People can say things like money doesn’t matter but Jon Rahm is a perfect example today.

Don’t think Medved or Huss would touch this job. McCollum would be cool but would pry take a little patience (which would be worth it imo). Or maybe try to outpay the dude from Wake Forest to come here.

Not that I like this thread being/needing bumped, but Lue is one of the top 5 coaches in the NBA. He's not coming back to coach Husker hoops.

Not that you were saying Lue as a condidate - you were saying just the opposite.

Are NBA coaches actually coaches? Or are they baby sitters? Seems like two totally different occupations compared to coaching college hoops.

I think Medved would listen. He pry should’ve struck while the iron was hot last year and didn’t so that works toward our advantage.

Huss and Devries wouldn’t come here.

Fuck it….. stick with Fred…. I feel like he’d get us to the NCAA every 3-4 years. Just have to deal with a clunker season or two in between those years. Seems to be all this program is ever going to be capable of.

His pattern has been to have a single “good” (?) season in between the clunkers, which are the norm.
