Negative. Ben Jacobsen was the man that year. Landon was a junior and a great player too.

How could I forget Mr Jacobson. Great player. That was back in the glory years of the Missouri River Conference. West was good when Papa Heinrich was there, East was good, Heelan of course, not sure on north. But then AL was good there for a bit with Turek and Issacson running the show. Throw in TJ was on the cusp of having some very tough teams and you had a really good basketball conference.

Yep. Him and Funk made for a pretty special class that year. Cool to see Vanderloo have a solid career as an assistant at CU too. Started going to his camps in grade school.

My high school didn’t have much success against East, but man that hostile environment and that gym were always so fun to play in. It was always close and hard fought.

I graduated from Northeast in 02. We were straight up dog shit in everything. Football or basketball, can't remember which, was good though from 95 to 98 I believe.

Pay Jerome Tang double his Kstate salary

Do you actually think NU Basketball can get a guy from another P5 program to come to NU and coach? Why would any coach come to the historically worst P5 program in the history of college basketball?

When Hoiberg is fired or leaves, NU will most likely get another up and comer from the lower ranks.

No more coaches from lower conferences. Find an established assistant in the B1G, preferably Brandon Brantley from Purdue, and cut him loose with resources. Brantley played in the B1G and has 10-12 years as an assistant at Purdue with some dang good recruiting chops. He'd be a tough get, but an absolute homerun hire.

I think you may have missed the sarcasm a bit. Obviously he wouldn’t come here.

I’m thinking more of an assistant coach at Baylor left to turn around a program that will probably be in the top 10 in year 1. There aren’t many Tangs in the world but we have to stop accepting mediocrity at some point.

We may have found Fred’s ceiling this year. Time to rip the band aid and move on.

I hate to say it.. but I'm afraid of the Barry Colliers/Docs/Miles hires. Smaller conference guys you hope make the adjustment to P5. And they didn't. Granted it did work with Nee. Different era though.

Get me a B1G assistant seriously. No more Horizon League hires (though that's working out for Missouri w Gates).

You guys were surprisingly competitive in baseball around 02-04.

Adding Pat Kelsey at College of Charleston because why not? Has them 20-1 this season. Had them 23-2 last year.

If the $600M Memorial Stadium renovations come to fruition, I can't imagine Turd is also thinking about replacing Fred at this time.

We will see how the season ends, but I would imagine Fred will be back for at least another year with how this team is competing against the toughest scheduled in P5.

Lol….definitely the exception, but I remember in high school we were cheering to keep the South Sioux City girls under 100 points in a game. They were something else in the late 90s/early 00s
Our best girls team in decades got DESTROYED by them at state 🙁
