In case people were wondering, RSing players in todays college game is dumb. No need to even pay them for a year to sit. If they are good enough now, you bring them in. If they need a RS, even for service time, you let them sit their year on someone else’s dime.
In addition, if you have to RS your RB there is a 90% they aren’t any good.

They probably blew a lot of their DL wad on getting Nwaneri, bringing Keona Davis back and keeping the rest of the DL.
But they still need bodies so they are trying to get the best they can with what's left.
They could also be holding some back for a yet to be determined impact DT for instance I doubt it but who knows. But I'm sure they would find the cash if one was interested.
Everyone likes to throw around how much money we have for this or that but it's not unlimited.
