I don’t understand the bitching and moaning
Lets be honest though you didn't understand the bitching and moaning about Frost until way late in the Frost error....oops...ERA. What's causing all the angst is that they shit the bed in the exact same way Frosts teams shit the bed. Is it an anomaly? Could be, but by now I'm what you call conditioned. I see dumbfuck penalties at the worst time, turnovers in the red zone and when the game is on the line, questionable game management by the HC, questionable play calling when the game is on the line, weird as balls RB rotation, no calls for the TE's to be involved other than one 8 yard pass...fuck yes I'm gun shy.

Rhule is fine and I'm very pleased with what Tony White's group accomplished without a starting DE for a half and 2 rotation linebackers.

We are obviously a better prepared team as compared to prior seasons based on a sample of one. Defense flew to the ball better than I've seen in years. No real glaring defensive breakdowns. Special teams were night and day better.

We have a larger offensive skill position talent deficiency than I anticipated. I was very disappointed in the lack of TE in the passing game. The OLine was serviceable imo but I think Ben Scott will help bring that group along.

Sims will be an enigma all year long. I firmly believe he will win us two or three games, but his inability to go through progressions and bad habits are what they are at this point. We will need to scheme around his passing game deficiencies and simplify his decisions.

It was his first game!

New head coach, new staff, new systems, 40+ new players

Everyone said all offseason that we are gonna suck. So we go toe-to-toe with Minnesota in the first game and we almost beat them and now you're all melting down

Funny thing is that almost everyone picked Nebraska to lose. Especially our fans.

Rhule brings the team out and they played their asses off but made some mistakes they are known for.

Now Rhule sucks? GTFO. This team needs to learn how to get out of it's own way or he will overhaul the roster until it does.

Exactly 💯

It's not about the loss. It's about the fashion in which we lost. How doesn't anyone understand that.

The reactions today from everyone are keeping me entertained. We basically won on the road to a team that was favored with a first year head coach and zero wide receivers. Team is better. Anyone that can’t see that should find another hobby. Grow up
I agree with Tone. Have to step back and remember we were +7.5 pt underdogs. About the worst scenario to start a new HC tenure at (road game vs top half, consistent B1G program).

If we would have lost 35-7 it would have been easier to take for our fans but it would have shown that we're miles away from the top half of the B1G. We now know our athletes are easily top half of the B1G level. 2 of the 3 units are top half of the B1G (D, STs).

We now know what Rhule has to work with. He's got a good enough team that can go 7-5 vs this schedule ...but now all the pressure is on Rhule/Satterfield to figure out a way to run a 1-TO offense w 2-3 penalties max per game.

If they can figure that out they can go 7-5. If they DON'T they will go 4-8. For all the Rhule skeptics out there, you'll get your chance to see what he's made of these next 11 games. His athletes are generally equal to every team he's playing this yr (minus 2 teams maybe?). That's a big difference from his yr 1 at Baylor and Temple. Let's see if he can solve it.

Who cares though (in the macro sense)? A loss is a loss.

I mean, you had a new QB, new RB, new WRs, new TE, new C, starting OG who was suspended 1 full yr, new LBs, freshmen DEs, new S, new HC, new assistant coaches, new kicker, new KR, new PR.

You're gonna get this in CFB w that many new faces and no preseason + conference road game as your opener. I'm not happy about the way we lost either but gotta understand macro context too.

(BTW none of this is sunshine-pumping, I'm only saying that a mistake-laden shit show was very predictable in this type of road game/season opener, thus we shouldn't freak out and fire everyone)
