Most likely Hire? Your Out of the Blue Hire candidate & why?

lol, this isn't NCAA 2014 dude. What I'm saying doesn't have anything to do with the "Nebraska way" or how big time college football operates. I even said in there that Lane would be my guy if he takes the job. You are fighting w/ windmills here.

I get your point. But it still does have something to do with "the Nebraska Way".

If we hire Kiffin and he ends up being Frost 2.0, we swung and missed. But in all honesty, Kiffin has a much better and longer resume than Frost. I wanted Frost, I think we all did. But we were pumped up on his 12 and 0 season at UCF, his Husker ties, and that he would get how things need to be done at Nebraska. It was all wrong, though, proven out over more than 4 seasons of epic losing.

I care little about anything but a guy who is one of the top winners in CFB. No coach is a for sure thing, but you percentages go up with guys who have done it before at a high level.

Most likely hire: Matt Rhule
Most out of the blue hire: Tom Hermann

Hire that message boarders would hate but makes some sense: Jeff Monken

Here's a Jeff Monken scenario I could get behind: Monken is hired. Brent Davis takes the Army job. Monken brings in a coordinator nobody knows about....Matt Drinkall. "Running a no-huddle, Power-Spread system, Drinkall’s offense set conference and school records for points per game (54.3) and yards per game (530.8) during the regular season. The 2018 offense produced a quarterback accounting for 3,739 yards and 47 touchdowns, while simultaneously producing a running back that accounted for 2,788 yards and 41 total touchdowns. Averaging over seven yards per play, the 2018 offense additionally set conference and school records for total points, total yards, points in a game (83), points in a half (69), points in a quarter (49). All three records were set in separate games." Drinkall obviously lacks power 5 experience so let's pair him with a run coordinator, Scott Fuchs.

Monken then calls up Phil Parker and says "Sup bro? Wanna coach a defense that doesn't have to carry an entire team" and Parker says "Fo sho fuck dem racists fools in Cockeye City" *for reference I am not sure of the lingo Monken or Parker use.

Mickey Joseph can stay.

Rest of those dudes can bounce.

Sean Teter gets hired as a strength and conditioning coach. I become an insider and probably hang out all the time in Lincoln. I tee-pee Callahan's yard every Friday night so he has to wake up and deal with that before games. Idiot.

FWIW....some of you message boarders talk about Mickey Joseph being hired by the AD and not Frost as a plant to get Aranda. What about Wes Fleming? Maybe he's a plant. Former analyst at Army and former coordinator under Matt Drinkall.
A Frankenstaff only Nebraska could assemble.

He spends like 9 months a year max in Oxford right now, and the rest of the time in Boca.
Maybe he’s searching for a retirement community for Monte in del Boca Vista?
And also looking to buy him a Cadillac once there? Takes time

Still don't think you're really getting it and it has nothing to do w/ the "Nebraska way" and everything to do with who Lane actually is as a coaching candidate. You could say similar things about Prime, PJ Fleck, Leach, etc.

1. You typically go for the opposite of your ex. Lane is notoriously disorganized and will say dumb shit that will put the university in the spotlight. Turd may ultimately get over that because of his track record, but that's not a slam dunk. 2. Lane is an acquired taste for any athletic department. Many ADs are not going to be comfortable with him spending 3+ mo. in Boca. Would Turd? I find the trolling shit on twitter hilarious. Many ADs would not. Where's Turd on that? Lane is the type of guy you need the right admin to work with. You can't bring Kyrie Irving into every locker room. It's the same as any organization--when you bring in a personality like that you have to have the admin equipped to do it. I have no idea if Turd is that guy.

I think those side issues are not worth worrying about with Kiffin. He's not spouting anti-sematic shit on twatter or where ever. Kyrie is a bonafide nutcase. I don't think that description fits Kiffin.

If Turd can't handle some different personalities, who happen to be great coaches, well.... IDK what to say about that. I don't think Kiffin or Urban would be a dumpster fire in that way. Some old heads on fakebook might bitch about it. But winning is what matters. And NOT suggesting we hire a guy with huge red flags, scandals or serious character issues, just don't think any red flags like that are big enough to not hire them. But I could be wrong.

The working relationship between the administration and the coach isn't at all side issue man, esp when you're dealing with someone like Lane. That's why when you read anything about Auburn and Lane Kiffin you're going to see people mention Cohen b/c Cohen has experience w/ Leach.

Main point is: is it really that big of an issue with Kiffin to worry about? I don't think it is at this point. Not a zero percent chance he doesn't flake out, but IMO not a big risk.

To be clear, I think there's a higher chance of getting Urban, but Harbaugh is a weird guy and seems to have issue with Michigans admin. Harbaugh shitted on Turd when they were with the Colts so I doubt they are friends
That settles it. Harbaugh it is.
