MLPFC Shit Posting

We were pretty aggressive here getting corn going planting. Finished up today and will try and get some beans in the ground the next two days before hopefully our best shot of rain this spring. Still need to break the dry trend that’s been going on for us in the area. Haven’t had a large front with general rains in idk how long. Seems like any good rains we’ve had have still been spotty in the area.
I hand dug and planted a new tree in my side yard 10 days ago. The ground all the way to the bottom of the new hole was powder dry. I REALLY need to be mindful of the new tree planting watering adage: water a new tree every day for a week, every week for a month, and every month for a year. Hope it makes it.

Fingers crossed for the right amount of rain for you and all the lads out doing the Lord's work farmin' and ranchin' out there.

This one - because it's the side yard - is an ornamental:

I've had hand planted (meaning I've dug every hole) many other trees on the property in the last 10 years, including a weeping Norway Spruce, 3 traditional Norway Spruce, 2 Colorado Blue Spruce, 4 White Pines, 2 Aspen, and 1 Autumnal Red Maple. (bio)Diversity is our strength!

headin to Florida beach in a few weeks , ready to get out of the desert for a couple weeks and do nothin but hit every tiki bar in sight
Your mind is gonna explode when you see foliage again, Doc. Every time my daughter comes back to Nebraska from Scottsdale, she looks around and remarks, "Its so GREEN here!". She seems to forget what a Kentucky bluegrass lawn looks and feels like, as well as deciduous tree foliage, etc.

Enjoy the tiki bar(s). Take bail money. Juuuuuust in case. 😉

Saw a presentation of new tech yesterday. A few of them geared towards farmers. I'm not sure if truly new. Seemed like products that should already be out there. Maybe just new in the sense that it uses AI.

Monitor that goes on water tanks. Connects to phone app so you can check on it without driving out to it. Tells you if it's low or frozen some other stuff. Was the best presentation.

Side by side comparison of farm equipment across brands. So can go online and compare JD tractor specs with a Case. Only tractors done so far but plans to expand it into other equipment.

There was one more I think. Can't remember what it was.

Unfortunately no. Have my daughter’s 1st communion and birthday. Plus my brother in law who is usually my partner is in Missouri at some bowling tournament.

Nice, good rain though
This week has been a god send. Ended up catching some scattered showers end of last week that totaled pretty good on a lot of our farms and then this Wednesday and Friday finally caught some widespread rains that were good across the whole area. Feels like we hadn’t had those in 2 or 3 years so gonna celebrate with playing some golf and getting drunk on a sunday
