Finished up planting beans late last night. Dads still finishing up today and my brother is irrigating but I decided to be a terrible farmer and left to do a golf tournament with my oldest brother, sue me
Given that you were in Omaha did you take her to Josie? If yes, that's a special place. I trust she will be cared for with the dignity and care she deserves.Made the Scottsbluff to Beebeetown drive yesterday in a personal best of 6 hours/35 minutes. Listened to GIAH’s red dirt music the entire way. Mrs Bomber has a deep nasty chest cold so she’s home on the couch watching the Hallmark Channel, thus I’m flying solo this trip.
My siblings and I are in the process of transitioning my 93 yr old mom into a hospice situation, although she’s not the traditional hospice candidate. No terminal cancer, no terminal COPD/respiratory condition, no advanced diabetes.
What she does have is a blood clot on her right lung. Reduced lung capacity, reduced leg strength, etc. She’s still got a great fighting spirit and has every intention of being around a year from now. Fingers crossed.
Anyway……spent the day running errands around Omaha for my mom and then one of our son’s and his family drove out to the farm to join us for supper. And my son and his fam are driving over from Des Moines tomorrow morning to also spend a little time with our matriarch. ❤️
Looking forward to watching our VB girls turn up the fun dial in Central City tomorrow against WSU. Should be fun getting to see Beason and the new freshmen getting their chance to show off. GBR!!
Hope you boys who could use some rain get all you need over the next 60 days and hope yore May Day basket has a few icy cold Silver Bullets in it………😎🍺👍

Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.Josie?

We interviewed three different hospice agencies, two based in Council Bluffs and one in Harlan (IA) and decided on the Harlan company. An RN comes to the farm on M and Th and checks vitals, discusses appetite, personal hygiene, etc. A nurses aide comes on T and F primarily to help mom with a bath. The goal is that she lives out her remaining days at home.Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.
cattlemen….is it grass szn in your area yet? finally getting some moisture here in south central nebraska
We are sending majority of ours out to pasture tomorrow. We’ve actually been hauling water with the tender truck to a dug out across the road from the shop. Have hauled 10k gallons already, gonna try and get 60-80k in there. One pasture has zero water in the dugouts or crick so that group has to stay home. Pretty depressing, we’ve been getting a few .20-.40 rains the last 10 days, but there have been inch plus cells every direction of us 10-30 miles away the last week. One of these times it’ll hit us but hasn’t yet.cattlemen….is it grass szn in your area yet? finally getting some moisture here in south central nebraska
The only thing making it rain (so far) here in Bennington is my neighbor's cot dam Maple tree. It's drunk, think it's Thomas "Pacman" Jones in a Vegas strip club, and is making it rain whirlybirds. Only happens once every few years, and apparently this is one of them. I look forward to pulling 1.2 million baby Maple trees out of my lawn on future mowing excursions later this summer. I know, I know ... first world problems.Sounds like rainfall is getting more widespread and hitting areas where it's been much needed in the Sandhills , panhandle etc
it was nasty out there. im sure it still is, but i went out to sidney last august & didnt see green vegetation for 40 milesSounds like rainfall is getting more widespread and hitting areas where it's been much needed in the Sandhills , panhandle etc
