Our Thanksgiving was all planned out over a 10 day period, beginning last Friday. Was going to drive to west Omaha and stay with Mrs. Bomber’s second son and his fam on F, S & S.

However, we found out before we left that her son’s wife tested positive for the Rona. So, we called our friends who live south of Lincoln to stay with them. Wrong…..husband had been sick and they weren’t sure what from.

So we called some other Lincoln friends, they had nothing going on and we stayed with them S & S and had a great time. Headed out to the farm on Sunday and stayed with my mom S & M nights.

Then headed to Des Moines on T morning to spend Thanksgiving with my son and fam, and also my daughter (and her fam) who had flown to DM from Austin. Tuesday was fun, all day yesterday was great and then late morning today both of the Austin grandkids (ages 3 & 6) had Covid symptoms.

Test kits were acquired and both tested positive. Fuck me…….😠. And the really sad part was that all 10 of us were headed back to the farm tomorrow morning where my 92 yo mom has been looking forward to their visit for 3 months.

So now, one DIL has Covid, close friend south of Lincoln is likely to have Covid, two granddaughters from Austin tested positive and the rest of us (from today’s story) will get tested in the next day or two.

So, we’re 614 miles from home, don’t know if we’re Covid-positive or not, can’t go to the game or a bar or a restaurant and are just basically kinda fucked.

And we’re supposed to leave for Deadwood a week from tomorrow for a long weekend.

Gawd, I love the holidays…….🖕🖕🖕

If Rona would have been a thing 30 years ago, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" would have been a dark comedy rather than just a classic comedy.

PS: I accidently called Avon Indiana Menards to complain about my refund not being issued for that gate kit. Who knew there were Menards stores in Avon IN and Avon OH? What a country.

The parochial grip on HS football in Orange County is just over the top. Mater Dei, Servite, St. John Bosco are all essentially farm teams for USC. They start recruiting kids in the 6th grade and they're not constrained by those pesky little things like district or geographic boundaries.

Exhibit A is the CIF Division 1 championship tonight between Mater Dei and Servite. Shocked I tell you.
