There has been a history of colon cancer in my family as well, including three generations. I had some external rectal bleeding when I was getting close to my 40th birthday.Man, there's a bunch of colon cancer in my family (both grandma's, uncle, etc...), so I had to have my first one two years ago at 45. They found 3 polyps (small, medium, and large), all of which were benign, but I'm now on the every three years colonoscopy track... Not looking forward to that for the next 20+ years!
Hemorrhoids were suspected but my doc wanted to be sure there wasn’t something else going on. Did the colonoscopy and everything was negative but the family history deal set the stage for regular colonoscopies going forward.
I’ve had either 5 or 6 butt-cameras since and they have found (and removed) polyps the last two times……all benign. And now you have my rectal history, made possible by a grant from tPB Trust Fund…….Happy Trails…..😎
