If I learned one thing from the Frost years it’s that yards can be overrated. His offenses would put up a lot of yards, but couldn’t make the play when it mattered and score enough points. Our offense really hasn’t put together a complete game all year and the second halves have been horrible. I’m not excusing the defense, but they sucked equally yesterday. We are basically averaging 7 points per game after halftime on offense.
He was citing Indiana's 1st half offense.

No idea. I don't know what Thomas's aspirations are.

He can't be worse than Satterfield though. Satterfield runs an offense that literally does nothing well. As Rhule said, nothing comes easy for us. That is code for: our offense sucks.

Any new hire would be better. The only thing our offense can say it does well are the end around/sweeps to Barney and then "hope Dylan makes an incredible NFL throw " plays.

Beyond that everything else we do is poor.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the past 10 years of watching Nebraska football, it’s to NEVER say it can’t get worse. It can always get worse.

If Glenn Thomas is Rhule’s guy for being the next OC then they need to make the change now & keep it in-house. South Carolina has been pretty vocal on how shitty they think Satt is & I believe they also made a midseason change while Satt was still on the staff
Wasn’t the rumor or thought was that Satt lost his playcalling duties? And after that, Rattler lit up Tennessee for at least 40?

I think it was the cover 3 guys who questioned who was calling plays the second half of that season.

SC insidehers were apparently pretty adamant that Satt was not running things for those last few weeks. I vaguely remember hearing Cover 3 talking about it too

I've looked through every thread that makes sense to look... can't find Rhules full post game presser vid. Can someone post it here so I can watch it? TIA

Thanks Sous!

EDIT: That's just the 21 second version. Looking for the full post game presser version.

What is crazy, and who knows if this is right given the source, but I think Sipp said that IU's coaching staff is like an average age of 34 and is one of the youngest in the country.
To be fair, it remains to be seen if Indiana can maintain this level of success. They can’t live in by the transfer portal every year. Look at Colorado. Eventually, they will need to recruit and develop players. If they can do that, they could be tough for years to come, or at least until other teams poach their coaches.

You're welcome. And I'm curious what you thought.

He took accountability. He said some vague enough things that could be construed as being critical of Satterfield. Also same for White - which it sounds like there may be some tension or disagreement happening (who really knows).

It was also kind of a sales pitch pumping up the players - like not really putting blame on them, which in such an asskicking - maybe it is all obvious enough. I didn't think the overall effort was great by the team. We looked flat, and the team still has a confidence issue in if they think they can win - I think they still expect to lose in the back of their mind.

Some excuses for getting blown out - like going for it on 4th so much, getting off schedule on offense because down big in score. I mean, yeah, we were getting our asses beat in all areas of the game that gets you off schedule. And I would like to see some accoutability in the fact that we can't even try to kick a FG, or how bad overall our special teams are. I mean we take the first kickoff and catch it at the sideline at the 1 or 2 yard line and step out of bounds (he did at least mention this a couple times). Dumb. We bobbled at least another kick return pinning us deep again. Special teams being so bad have compounded the difficulty in scoring. Either a TD or nuttin.

There was so much bad going on in this game, he could have called out a whole bunch of stuff. He was measured and smart to not say too much, but he did allude to offensive and defensive scheme issues I thought.

He is a good salesman, you gotta give him that. The results are what matters - if this is just fluff salesman talk without positive results, it is gonna be a long haul.
