You're welcome. And I'm curious what you thought.
He took accountability. He said some vague enough things that could be construed as being critical of Satterfield. Also same for White - which it sounds like there may be some tension or disagreement happening (who really knows).
It was also kind of a sales pitch pumping up the players - like not really putting blame on them, which in such an asskicking - maybe it is all obvious enough. I didn't think the overall effort was great by the team. We looked flat, and the team still has a confidence issue in if they think they can win - I think they still expect to lose in the back of their mind.
Some excuses for getting blown out - like going for it on 4th so much, getting off schedule on offense because down big in score. I mean, yeah, we were getting our asses beat in all areas of the game that gets you off schedule. And I would like to see some accoutability in the fact that we can't even try to kick a FG, or how bad overall our special teams are. I mean we take the first kickoff and catch it at the sideline at the 1 or 2 yard line and step out of bounds (he did at least mention this a couple times). Dumb. We bobbled at least another kick return pinning us deep again. Special teams being so bad have compounded the difficulty in scoring. Either a TD or nuttin.
There was so much bad going on in this game, he could have called out a whole bunch of stuff. He was measured and smart to not say too much, but he did allude to offensive and defensive scheme issues I thought.
He is a good salesman, you gotta give him that. The results are what matters - if this is just fluff salesman talk without positive results, it is gonna be a long haul.
