The only way I see the Davis hire as a good hire is...

• He gets limited time with his guys and they are very discipline.
• He fucking runs the ball. If you have him as run the ball guy in the OC. Frost can help scheme up the passing game. Maybe that will help us from shitting our pants when the game is on the line.
• Option offense would be elevated.

Now of course that isn't a very sexy hire, but I can see the appeal.

I am not worried about the scheme. I want the guy who can basically be the offset to Frost. Somebody who can help raise the floor of this offense. Frost is one of the best X's and O's offensive minds in the conference.

Red Zone offense is fixed because we were #1 in the B1G in TD% in conference play...We went 4/9 on FGs inside the red zone. Hit the say 4 more FGs and we jump to 3rd/4th in scoring % in conference play.

You probably win MSU by double digits and that could be a momentum win. Think about all the field position we lost in net punting and then of course the return.

Do you give up a kickoff vs Wiscy? Do you maybe kick FGs on those 2 empty trips? Either of those puts you in a spot for a game winning FG late vs needing a TD to tie.

I thought we were moving towards more of a balanced spread offense when we signed Haarberg and then got a commitment from Torres, both of whom seem like more pro style QBs, which would suggest a guy like Harrell.

But then we started running the option stuff this year, and Frost mentioned he wants to run the option more, and his offense here has always been QB centric, plus the Coast Carolina meeting, which might suggest he is moving in the direction of a guy like Davis.

Korn, Davis, Gill would all be terrible hires.

Frost needs a plug and play top level OC. He doesn't have the luxury of time to get things smoothed out.
