Real you was getting all butthurt today in the chat because people were asking about the defensive staff. The only member seemingly not confirmed yet on the road is Dawson.
Dean really can't figure out part of the reason people are asking is because our staff numbers are unbalanced if we want a special teams coach and Frost is going to be a CEO and not coach a position. On defense we have a DL, OLB, ILB, and DBs, plus Chin. Add a Special Teams coach, and on offense we have an OC/QB (or something similar), OL, RB, WR, and TE. The numbers obviously don't work out and he is having a hard time grasping that concept. The most sense seems to be the Special Teams coach will have to coach a position, Frost will have to coach a position, the WR/TE will be combined, or Chin will have to coach a position and one of the defensive staff members will be gone.

Dawson would make hiring a special teams coordinator the easiest.
Chins DC/OLBs and you free up a spot to hire Busch or Snyder.
Like it is basic math. How do I get an extra spot to hire a full time special teams coach?
- Get rid of Dawson? T? Ruud? Beckton?
- All 3 of those guys are good coaches IMO.
- Dawson seems like the cleanest way this gets done. JMO but I think he is one of your better coaches too.

- Do you have the OC coach RBs or OL and Frost coaches QBs?

I think the only way Frost ends up coaching QBs is if they hire the Army OC.

If you're gonna run a spread offense that has option sprinkled in, Frost would probably be the best QB coach you could have.

What are the actual rules for analysts? Some have mentioned in the past how Tavita Thompson coached our TEs, but he was a GA, so that is still different. But say Ron Brown went back to being an analyst, how much coaching could he do with the RBs, or is he allowed to do any? I don't like this option at all and still think a defensive coach would have to leave for a full time special teams coach to be hired, but Brown is a good coach and may not want to go out and recruit full time. I admittedly don't know the rules at all on the cans and can'ts of analysts.

That is on the field. The only coaches allowed to coach on the field are full time guys and GAs and you can only GA for so long

I have yet to hear it from a credible person.
I was basically told he would be an off the wall hire.
He doesn't even call plays at CC. How do you expect to turn the keys over? If you were thinking of having him coach QBs or WRs maybe but you don't have the numbers. Unless we got a nice analyst money pool now.
