Has the defense really turned around though? We were pretty good at the "bend but don't break", which kept scores low - but we were in no way disruptive in the backfield, couldn't rush the passer, and almost never forced mistakes/turnovers.

I don't know about you, but personally I consider that a pretty goddamn important part of a defense's job. Get that right, and the flashy stuff is just icing on the cake.

The defense definitely isn't as disruptive as maybe it was advertised to be when the defensive staff was brought in. But compared to the offense we were told was coming in...it's been pretty dang good.

Honestly I'm pretty big into the bend don't break defense. It's how I've always coached, it's why I liked Banker's defense as well. Just my style because I'm more conservative by nature.

I do find it weird that no announcements have been made today regarding Nebraska hires. Why fire those guys during that bye week if they aren't making the hires now? Recruiting needs to be numero uno...specifically the transfer portal. Can't do that until they announce these hires publicly.

They literally held every opponent except I think 1 under their season average. Ohio State wishes they could have played Michigan defensively the way Nebraska did.

I will say that it fell off late when they were beat up and the season was decided.

Well, it could also mean they have to go through background checks and signing of official paperwork before announcements.

I wouldn't expect Scott to make the right call and hire a special teams coordinator. I would expect him to continue to ignore the obvious problem in front of him as he has continued to do.

I think Tuoiti is likely to stay given his family being here, but wouldn't shock me.

The smoke around Busch makes me wonder about Fisher.

I think he's done a good job. I think that group as a whole are working well together and have done a nice job turning the defense around.

Don’t tell the mouth breathers on the scrolls this. I once insinuated that JoJo was developed by Scott’s staff and was subsequently told by about 15 scrollers that it had more to do with Mike Riley’s recruiting than with 4 years of coaching and development LoL
