Nebraska offers mammoth Las Vegas tackle

Huskers make intriguing offer to big lineman from Las Vegas Dominic Harris

Mike SchaeferMike Schaefer11 hrs0

Nebraska made an offer on Wednesday to offensive tackle Dominic Harris on Wednesday. The 2026 lineman from Ed W Clark High School in Las Vegas announced it on social media.

The Huskers have identified tackle as a clear need for the 2026 class and have made quite a few offers already for the position. Harris, a three-star on 247Sports and 247Sports Composite, already has a bevy of suitors and quite a few official visits set up, so Nebraska has its work cut out for it.

One thing going for the Huskers with Harris is that he's already pretty enamored by the school. Here's what he said in January after the Huskers just started to reach out.

"Nebraska has always been a dream school and I just started texting with them more," said Harris. "I really like the campus."

The 6-foot-7, 335-pound lineman had a good performance at the All-American Underclassmen Combine.

The No. 4 quarterback in the 2027 cycle made his third trip to Lincoln on Thursday and is back on campus Friday to meet with the coaching staff. He kept a close eye on the quarterbacks and receivers at practice Thursday, and got a feel for what being coached by offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen and quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas is like. Nebraska is a rising contender here, picking up momentum at the right time as he aims to make his commitment in June. He'll head straight from Lincoln down to Texas A&M Friday, another top contender. Expect more from Taylor this weekend.

Thursday's visit was Rankin's first time connecting with new wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. and safe to say the first impression was positive, as the four-star locked in a return official visit for June 13. Nebraska has made the four-star feel like a priority despite the position coach changes, and he's been receptive to the Huskers' pitch. In-state Illinois is the school to watch, especially after adding a basketball offer to pair with his existing football offer from the Fighting Illini. The two-sport star would like to play both sports at the next level if given the opportunity, Illinois giving him that opportunity will be tough to compete with. Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin are among others involved.

Nebraska's top defensive end target in the 2026 cycle was at Michigan earlier this week and now heads to Lincoln for the first time in nearly a year, as the Huskers are looking to secure an official visit from the top-100 prospect. He arrives in Lincoln on Saturday and the staff will look to get an official visit date locked in before he leaves campus. He's currently scheduled to make official visits to Michigan and Alabama this summer. Texas, USC, Missouri, Oregon and Georgia are other contenders in the mix.

Sone's tough to track down as he's currently without a phone, but he's tentatively expected in Lincoln on Friday for an unofficial visit. Nebraska had him in town for Elite Junior Day in February, which saw the Huskers rise into his top three. Regardless of if he gets back on campus this weekend, Nebraska is well-positioned to get him back for an official visit in June and are emerging as a real contender to land his commitment.

A priority interior target, Tanner will be visiting Nebraska for the first time on Saturday, but he's not unfamiliar with the staff. Director of Player Personnel Keith Williams visited his school in the fall and offensive line coach Donovan Raiola did the same in January. Tanner is at the top of Raiola's board along the interior, but the Huskers are battling Oregon, Michigan, Boise State, BYU and more for the reigning Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year.

Nebraska is already scheduled to get Rule on an official visit June 13, but he's decided to get back up to Lincoln even sooner for an unofficial visit Friday. Rule is a rising target for running backs coach EJ Barthel, a big, physical back with capable long speed to pair. Good opportunity for the Huskers to gain some momentum as they battle NC State, Miami, Syracuse and Wisconsin, among others.

Nebraska isn't putting all their eggs in the Trae Taylor basket as they assess 2027 quarterbacks. Croucher, a rising quarterback in the cycle, will visit Saturday in hopes of earning an offer from the staff. The four-star has Ole Miss, Michigan State, Minnesota and a few others in the mix to date.

He and his family are making the long drive up from Lake Charles, excited to get a feel for the program. Pulling him away from the SEC will prove difficult, but Nebraska is the first program out of the region to get him on campus, which is telling.
