Not to be a downer, but I'm not even sure why I'm following this thread. With the portal I couldn't care less about high school recruiting unless it's an elite prospect. I'm at a complete 180 following college football recruiting from a few years ago. It could also be that I'm more interested in the transfer portal for college basketball too.

It’s just changed how I look at the process.

’m still interested in who we’re going after and who signs (eventually), but any excitement is tempered by the realization that a much higher percentage of HS recruits won’t see the field in a Nebraska uniform versus ‘Pre Transfer Portal’ HS recruiting.

I’ll also say I’ve never been all in on the Twitter or X never ending recruiting news reel either. I haven’t lived in Nebraska for a long, long time, so the best information I used to get was Street & Smith’s before the internet and social media blew up. It was quieter then.
