I'm pretty concerned that Turd will try to make a move and the Traditional Coalition folks will get whipped into a frenzy and either stop it or tank the next coach from the outset.
I actually don't know if there's enough passion left for this to happen, but I could very easily be wrong. My fear/assumption is that a lot of those people just check out for good, ESPECIALLY if the replacement is a no-name or a former sleaze on a rehab tour. So many people are exhausted and barely pay attention anymore as it is, the wrong hire after Frost could lead a lot of them to just call it a day. Maybe that's a good thing in some peoples minds haha but I don't think so.

This is exactly where I'm at. Those are the words that I haven't been able to find for some reason. Very close to the "don't care" tick on the meter, but I'll be full on checked out and just watching because it's football if Frost fails and someone new is brought in.

Guys it is a myth that Nebraska fans historically have been in agreement on everything and are some special highly educated group that has always been 110% invested.

Tons of fans in the late 70s and then late 80s/90-92 wanted Osborne fired.

Historically I’d say 20-30% of the fan base have been band wagon fans and to this day the fan base is still probably 90% T-shirt fans.

Yeah, when the team sucks the interest goes down. If interest didn’t drop whatsoever we would have a fan base entirely full of psychopaths and frankly that would be a bigger problem.

The sellout streak has been fake for 15+ years, interest has been down and that’s normal. I don’t agree with Sipple on very many things but his take about the stadium size is correct —> if Nebraska ever gets remotely good again (10 or more win season) that stadium will be PACKED every Saturday.

Most Husker fans aren’t on message boards or living and dying on every game. Interest will be back as soon as the team is good again.

Might be the best post I've ever seen in my now 4 years of being on message boards. However, that will not go over well on RSS as every poster there is indeed a football genius that should be coaching in the NFL.

I think a lot of people still care about Husker football. I think they have came to accept the fact Frost will likely lose a majority of his games and it doesn’t hurt like it use to but it’s been that way for awhile. We need to keep looking for the right coach. If and when we make a good hire the fan support will be at an all time high with what we have went through for how many years. All of the secondary sports we are good at prove it. Husker fans will always support a good product. Honestly the way Husker fans are supporting the football program at this point might be the most impressive because of how shitty the product is.

I literally plan Saturdays in the fall around game time. I don't think Frost is the wrong coach, but that's just me. In my athletic career, I've had a really shitty coach, some okay coaches that had talent around them that made it look better, and a couple really great coaches that if I would compare, were essentially different levels of an Osborne like program that resulted in Ws. I've also seen first hand, didn't technically play for him, but have seen the day to day of a baseball powerhouse and what took coaching, player, and culture wise.

In saying that, I'm a very internal motivation person. I don't need someone to get me going or to tell me the right things to do as far as work ethic and habits goes. I can do that myself. I know some can't. I'm the type that is coached once, maybe twice, and I'll understand do my best to fix it. I do think Frost is the right guy for this program. I also think Frost is the right guy at maybe the wrong time in society and in college football for how he wants to build this culture and program. I think Frost has plenty of flaws, but I also think the players have plenty of flaws. Recruiting is on Frost, perfectly acknowledged. And if a player isn't doing it, you recruit over him. Problem is, I'm not sure Frost will have enough time, based on social media and fan noise and message boards, to fix those initial mistakes and attempt to recruit and develop those next players. And the main reason for that is because fan expectations don't meet reality. University Admin's opinions might meet reality, but if fans stop showing up or supporting, that forces their hand some.

I don't remember a lot of elite Nebraska Football, so that's probably why I'm cool with riding it out and letting Frost try to figure it out. But that doesn't change my expectations. I do have an end of the rope for me with Frost, but I don't think I'm there yet to be quite honest.
