Was one of the first Southwest flights out of Omaha this morning where assigned seating was happening… the rage of some people stuck in the back that couldn’t choose the empty exit row seat had me VERY happy

I made the business decision that I am forever done with SW. I had the option of flying SW or Delta for a work meeting in NYC next month and will fly Delta for the first time in 15 years. Was on the one of the first Southwest flights out of Omaha this morning where assigned seating was happening… the rage of some people stuck in the back that couldn’t choose the empty exit row seat had me VERY happy
I haven’t flown anywhere in a couple of years (going to punta cana in a couple of weeks though), I’ve heard there is an epidemic of people across the country using the disabled excuse of getting to board first, who aren’t actually disabled. Is that going on in Omaha? Was on the one of the first Southwest flights out of Omaha this morning where assigned seating was happening… the rage of some people stuck in the back that couldn’t choose the empty exit row seat had me VERY happy
There were two wheelchairs on first. I had a flight coming back from Florida that looked like 50 were doing that.I haven’t flown anywhere in a couple of years (going to punta cana in a couple of weeks though), I’ve heard there is an epidemic of people across the country using the disabled excuse of getting to board first, who aren’t actually disabled. Delta is solid - you just don’t get upgraded to first class like you used to unless you’re 2 million miler + diamondI made the business decision that I am forever done with SW. Agree. That’s why I hated SW. I like to be close to last to boardIf you don't live your life trying to be the last person to get on that death trap, I feel bad for you
I could be flying private and I'd try to run on right before the door shutsAgree. That’s why I hated SW. I like to be close to last to board

I'm platinum pro on American, so I get upgraded about 1 out of every 3 or 4 flights. Crazy that there isn't a direct AA option from KC into LGA, JFK, or even Newark anymore. Sitting squarely at the back of the plane in group 5 or 6 boarding on Delta for that flight 🙁Delta is solid - you just don’t get upgraded to first class like you used to unless you’re 2 million miler + diamond
You and I are the same… never flew southwest because I wanted to board last and take my seat. Or worse you have a connection where you paid for priority but you were delayed and end up getting stuck between two elephants in a middle seat.Agree. That’s why I hated SW. I got to fly private for work a 1/2 dozen times and it was amazing.I could be flying private and I'd try to run on right before the door shuts
It's funny because when you have an assigned seat and no overhead, you DGAF when you board. If you don't live your life trying to be the last person to get on that death trap, I feel bad for you

The pilots give you their phone number and just tell you to give them a 30 minute warning when you want to take off. You walk right on, they grab your bags and you've got a drink in your hand before the door closes.
I get why billionaires fly like that.
SW was a convenient, efficient and cost effective airline that I flew regularly for business and personal travel. It started to unravel for me around 2016. I no longer find much advantage in using SW and have started avoiding it where I can.I made the business decision that I am forever done with SW.
