Latest expansion rumor…

Well, the area around Clemson has been infiltrated with a bunch of trash from Ohio who moved down there. So they need someone to root for in order to fit in with the locals down there.
I went to Myrtle Beach a few years ago and Ohio State was the No. 1 school represented in gear people were walking around in. It must be the Official Vacation Destination of Ohioans.

Ever since the B1G took USC/UCLAbia, it appears the ACC has been the focus. Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia are 4 of the most populous 12 states. Getting the B1G in those states is a good tactic in trying to limit the SEC.
I’d take it a step further. It’s race between B1G and SEC to grab as much land as they can to gain leverage over the other when the negotiations eventually turn to a merger/super league between B1G and SEC. That’s where this is all headed eventually IMO.

I was looking at buying a lake house on Lake Hartwell a few years ago and have a good buddy who lives in Greeneville, SC, and it's full of people from Ohio and California.

It absolutely is, but with a media twist: It's Fox/CBS/NBC lining up against ESPN. They're trying to stuff / keep ESPN in a regional box (ACC & SEC contracts) and go national with their multi-media broadcast consortium.

I really think that once these "brands" are settled and the B1G vs. SEC land grab is settled, the next frontier is the direct-to-consumer streaming package. That's probably a half-dozen years away (or more), but you can see the two mega conferences saying, "You want our content - pony up, CFB fan". And most of us will snap fingers quickly reaching for our wallets.

Agree here. I think that the Big Ten has been smart about this. If they can poach a couple of strategically placed schools (Virginia, UNC, Miami), they can really landlock the SEC, provided that the Big 12 ends up staying healthy and takes the Pac 12 leftovers.

When you put it like this, it's kind of wild that ESPN's CFB stronghold is in states where most of the people think they are owned by a corporation engaged in child sex trafficking, and most of the blue states can only find their games on a network owned by Rupert Murdoch.

With the 12 team playoff, will a 10-2 B1G team get in over a 11-1 Big 12?

Gonna be annoying playing a hard af schedule every year and watching 10-2 big12 champ Kansas State make the playoff after their cupcake schedule

Wouldn't they both likely get in?

I would bet the 10-2 B1G team gets in assuming they weren't terrible losses.

last year every regular season team with two or fewer losses was in the top 12 except for Tulane. There were two 3 loss teams in the top 12 after week 15.

Have to believe virtually every team with two or fewer losses gets in. No way a one loss team wouldn't make it.

If < 2 losses gets you in then i wish we were in the Big 12 and not the Big 10

Let’s say Penn State goes 9-3 with losses to Ohio State, Michigan, and USC

Then you have 10-2 Oklahoma State who played a cupcake little 12 schedule

I would hope the 3 loss Big Ten team gets in over the 2 loss Big 12

Apples and oranges. Conferences were more even. That's also after bowl games. Georgia no losses Michigan 1. Everyone else had at least 2.

B1G and SEC will have at least a 1 loss advantage over other conferences and probably 2.
unless you get a weird year with a lot of parity I'd be shocked if the Big 10 and SEC get less than 3 teams each in the playoff

I also believe that once this round of conference realignment is over we'll see a push for them to have their own playoff and leave the rest of the conferences behind
