If I were your dad, I would tell you to suck it the fuck up and be there. The man gave those kids an opportunity to play football at a prestigious university that has connections all over the world. Now is not the time to show they are soft and can’t handle a little adversity.

Reports are that Kelly will make $15 million a year. If true, that makes him the second highest paid US coach in ANY sport, professional or college. The only coach who makes more is Bill Belichick.

So instead of getting his shit kicked in the playoffs, he wants it done every week in the SEC. That guy had it made at ND. Cash checks and make the playoffs is all that was required. And not kill students.

My best guess here is Kelly is planning on retiring right around age 65 (5 years from now). He doesn't foresee having a great chance of winning a natty at Notre Dame before that time, so he decided to go to the school where you can go from losing season to Natty with the flip of a switch. If it all goes South, he will simply retire considerably richer than he already was.
