But seriously, what do you have for the definition?
I think gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse and mental manipulation that will leave you questioning your own reality and have you wondering if you’re in the wrong in nearly every argument.

All valid points but in my opinion he can’t just do thing’s exactly as they were done at Temple & Baylor as this is a completely different ballgame. He needs to leverage our resources and take advantage of them. We certainly aren’t paying him or his staff like they are at Temple or Baylor and the competition is going to be much greater here.

I am just surprised at how off the radar they are going for these players and the lack of recruiting board at certain positions. The more talented player Rhule can get, the better and quicker he can develop them. In my opinion and from historical perspective we are skipping over an entire subset of players that we could be landing that are deemed to be much more talented by the rest of the CFBALL world.

I’ve gone through enough of these coaching transitions to know that you get the wrath of fans in the honeymoon period if you question anything. I hope Rhule is finally the guy that makes you look stupid for questioning anything he does.
I guess that I don't buy the narrative that what worked at Baylor and Temple won't work here because this is the Big Ten. It's not like he had some gimmick that he was able to pull off at a lower level - he developed solid football players. It's the same thing that Cockeye and Wisconsin have done for the better part of the last decade of them kicking our teeth in. Talent on this team isn't the issue. We have out recruited and have more "talent" on our roster than anyone else in the West. Development is the issue. Rhule can (hopefully!!!) develop the talent that is already on this roster, while bringing in his guys and developing them too.

But you either trust and support Rhule, or you don't. And clearly you do not.

Too bad for Prime. Davidson was re-offered by Colorado following the camp and offer from Nebraska. He had an upcoming official visit set to Colorado State that he plans to cancel. He was also offered by Cockeye State, Kansas, and Washington State.

True. Webster's definition:

psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, uncertainty of one's emotional or mental stability, and a dependency on the perpetrator.

it's essentially what the NFL does as well - they take the promising college players, measure and test them and use the results to prepare draft boards. I am not sure why people think this is so strange when it happens in college football.

Did you even read what I said? No one expects to get dudes over those schools. We are well and able to get kids with other viable P5 offers.

You seem to be the one taking it so seriously? Aren’t we here to discuss Nebraska football and recruiting?
So you’re saying we should only go after guys if they have other P5 offers. You understand someone has to be their first P5 offer, right?

I’d rather have these highly skilled unranked players than a 4 star with a bunch of uncommitable offers. If we get a 4 or 5 star, I’m always a bit skeptical unless it’s a legacy player.

If you were a 4-5 star, why would you come to a school in the middle of the country, nothing to do and a team that can’t make a bowl game?

Just chill and let this play out. Feel free to come back in 2 years and tell us how right/wrong you were. We all know where you stand.

Perfect example from this past draft - Van Ness of Cockeye.

Did anyone know he was a top 15 pick? Hell, I don't recall hearing his name that much during the college season and come combine time and boom, the NFL loved his measurables.

Careful guys we wouldn't want to hurt Gduckbuckman's feelings anymore. I for one will not stand for it.

I get your point but this always makes me laugh...

Like there is shit to do in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Fayetteville, Norman, Stillwater, Columbia (MO or SC), Knoxville, Oxford, Eugene and the list goes on and on...

And even if you do live in a town where there's shit to do...Athens (Atlanta), Austin, LA etc etc...you're a fucking full time football player you don't have time to do it. College kids are gonna be college kids no matter what. Drink, party, fuck...it doesn't matter what town they are in.

This notion that Nebraska is in the middle of no where with nothing to do...Lincoln is 33% larger than Eugene, OR but Eugene doesn't get the moniker of a place out in the middle of no where. There are 78,000 people in Auburn, AL. But Lincoln is a bunch of hicks that live in the middle of no where?

Baton Rouge is smaller than Lincoln. The difference I guess is that Baton Rouge has New Orleans which is 25% smaller than Omaha and the same distance away.

Just funny that narrative gets pushed around a lot.

Now the not making bowl game...spot on. Lol

Agreed. I hate that damn argument. From everything I have ever heard/read, Tuscaloosa is an absolute shit hole but that sure doesn't seem to be a problem. Just win and it won't matter

Yeah, Tuscaloosa is a literal shithole

100%. Also "it's too cold in Lincoln". Like it's not cold in Columbus OH, Ann Arbor, Madison, or State College. And if your goal is to play in the NFL...Chicago, Green Bay, Buffalo, etc. It's so dumb.

Also I'd rather be playing in 30 degree weather in November in Lincoln than 105 degree swamp ass humidity in Gainesville in September.

This whole discussion is worthless to argue about at this point. Let’s see the results on the field and development of the players. Rhule has a mold of player that he likes. Keep in mind, these recruiting gurus are only going off of film and info fed to them by coaches and others. There is no way these recruiting services know about all these kids.
