This has been a breathtaking saga that I will need the full autopsy on at some point.I'm not exactly sure. But his dad spoke face to face with Rhule on Friday and got it all cleared up.

gaslighting isn't real. you made it up because you're crazyEveryone keeps gas lighting the issue. What about the 1,000 players between Raiola, Carter etc and the FCS talent we are getting? I don’t expect to get 5 stars or any 4 starts from outside the 500 mile radius but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be able to get commits with other P5 offers and interest.
Cool.
You don't know much about recruiting realities and you don't know what "gaslighting" means.
But other than that, great post.
You folks are wild. Yes, everyone keeps gaslighting anyone asking questions why we are recruiting FCS kids. They say well we haven’t won so we can’t recruit. We can’t recruit 5 stars blah blah. Well there is a whole universe of players in between the top 50 recruits and the dudes we are getting.gaslighting isn't real. you made it up because you're crazy
I don't know how well-versed you are in these things, but per 1620, there is a bigger difference between the #3 and #8 recruiting class than there is between the #17 and #40. We're splitting hairs here because we're going to land somewhere in that 17-40 range. You folks are wild. Yes, everyone keeps gaslighting anyone asking questions why we are recruiting FCS kids. If we can’t leverage our seat at the P2 table being in the big ten or use our brand new $165m facility or a supposed strong NIL to at least out recruit other low level P5’s then we are screwed.
You do you buddy! This is a message board to discuss these types of things. If you don’t think this type of recruiting is going to attract attention and conversation then I don’t know what to tell you.I don't know how well-versed you are in these things, but per 1620, there is a bigger difference between the #3 and #8 recruiting class than there is between the #17 and #40. Your rants are pointless and moot at this point.
Listen, I get it. These last few days with all of these, seemingly, random commits from perceived lower level recruits has been weird and shocking. I fully admit that. But Rhule was a guy that I wanted here more than anyone else in the country because he has proven that he is able to build and develop.Everyone keeps gas lighting the issue. look, we'd all be happier getting commits from a bunch of 4 and 5 star players like the Bamas and Georgias of the world. but most of us have been following this recruiting shit for close to 20 years. in that time I've realized it just doesn't matter. guys with no offers turn into draft picks and 4 stars wash out and never play a snapYou do you buddy! It’s not about the recruiting rankings, it’s about the lack of offers for all of these kids. You choose to believe that Rhule and his staff are just that much smarter than all of these other schools who didn’t offer these kids. I don’t believe that to be the case.
I also don't think I know what gaslighting means. My kid says it in a lot of different situations that don't seem to apply. Maybe he just doesn't know what it means.Cool.

All valid points but in my opinion he can’t just do thing’s exactly as they were done at Temple & Baylor as this is a completely different ballgame. He needs to leverage our resources and take advantage of them. We certainly aren’t paying him or his staff like they are at Temple or Baylor and the competition is going to be much greater here.Listen, I get it. For example, let's look at Rhule's last two years at Temple. In the 2016 draft, Temple had 3 players drafted, all of them were 2-stars - Tavon Young (5.3), Matt Ioannidis (5.4) and Tyler Matakevich (5.2). In 2017 they also had 3 players drafted - 2 of them 2-stars and 1 unrated - Haason Reddick (Unrated & no profile), Dion Dawkins (5.4), Nathan Hairston (5.3). After the 2017 draft, here is what Farrell had to say about Reddick:

And I get it - that was at Temple, we are Nebraska. We shouldn't be on the same level of recruiting as Temple. But I point this out to show that Rhule clearly has an eye for seeing something in kids that others overlook, and he has a record of being able to tap into that "something" and develop them into studs.
Look at his last year at Baylor too - he had 4 players drafted and none of them were rated higher than a 5.7 3-star on Rivals, including James Husker Lynch, who we passed on in pace of guys like Deontre Thomas and Deionte Watts.
Yes, things don't feel "right" right now. But how many hyped recruiting classes have we seen come in and turn into sub .500 teams? Is it more fun when we are beating other P5 schools for 3 or 4-star kids? Absolutely. But I'll take actually beating those other P5 schools on the field vs beating them for a recruit 10/10 times. And I think that's what we get with Rhule.
Rhule hasn't done anything so far that should surprise us. Sure, we all dreamed about the kind of staff that he would put together with our resources/budget - but he put together the same kind of staff that he did at Temple and Baylor. Why were we surprised? Now we are seeing it with recruiting. We shouldn't be surprised - this is what we signed up for with Rhule. And I'm 100% onboard until he begins to show me with his on-the-field results otherwise.
Did you even read what I said? No one expects to get dudes over those schools. We are well and able to get kids with other viable P5 offers.look, we'd all be happier getting commits from a bunch of 4 and 5 star players like the Bamas and Georgias of the world. but most of us have been following this recruiting shit for close to 20 years. in that time I've realized it just doesn't matter. guys with no offers turn into draft picks and 4 stars wash out and never play a snap
the only constant is that we can't control any of it. if it's something you can't control, you'll be a lot happier not taking it so god damned seriously
I think what we've seen is that the kids outside the top-100 are pretty much all wildcards and comparing an unranked kid to a 5.5 three star to a 5.8 four star is really just splitting hairs. Has more to do with camping, proximity to major cities, level of competition, etc. Those things don't seem to forecast D1 success very well imo. There was an unranked kid who camped at Nebraska, got an offer, committed and all of a sudden he's an 88 on 247. We really putting that much emphasis on what these recruiting dorks think? Outside the obvious top-50 to 100 kids it's mostly bullshit. You folks are wild. Yes, everyone keeps gaslighting anyone asking questions why we are recruiting FCS kids. Here you go my man,I'm going to admit it..
I'm not sure I know what gaslighting means.
Here you go my man,
Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse and mental manipulation that will leave you questioning your own reality and have you wondering if you’re in the wrong in nearly every argument.
You may shake your head at the notion but all it takes is one beautiful lady getting into your dome and making you question yourself at every turn.
Be careful out there my dudes.
That's not what it means at all. I think you made up this definition. Here you go my man,

Good thing I typed my response then, instead of using voice to text.Nothing gayer than a grown man using "gaslighting" unironically, aloud, in a sentence.
