Here is an example of gaslighting:

Let's say Ted is in a relationship with Linda.

Ted is a known cheater and has been caught in the past.

Ted is cheating on Linda.

Linda suspects Ted has been cheating again and she confronts him about it.

Here is the gaslighting: Ted responds to Linda's assertion that he's been cheating with something like, "I get caught one time and now you never trust me anymore. Haven't I done everything you asked? You always do this! How are we supposed to fix this relationship if you refuse to forgive me!? You're always checking up on me even though I've done everything you've asked of me! Why are you like this!? You're so paranoid!"

Now Linda is questioning if she's the one with the issue and not Ted.

I get your point but this always makes me laugh...

Like there is shit to do in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Fayetteville, Norman, Stillwater, Columbia (MO or SC), Knoxville, Oxford, Eugene and the list goes on and on...

And even if you do live in a town where there's shit to do...Athens (Atlanta), Austin, LA etc etc...you're a fucking full time football player you don't have time to do it. College kids are gonna be college kids no matter what. Drink, party, fuck...it doesn't matter what town they are in.

This notion that Nebraska is in the middle of no where with nothing to do...Lincoln is 33% larger than Eugene, OR but Eugene doesn't get the moniker of a place out in the middle of no where. There are 78,000 people in Auburn, AL. But Lincoln is a bunch of hicks that live in the middle of no where?

Baton Rouge is smaller than Lincoln. The difference I guess is that Baton Rouge has New Orleans which is 25% smaller than Omaha and the same distance away.

Just funny that narrative gets pushed around a lot.

Now the not making bowl game...spot on. Lol
Knoxville is pretty fun. Lots of stuff to do in Columbia SC.

I'd guess that it is for Donny Jones, Dae'vonn Hall a d Isaiah McMorris. I think all 3 are N.
So many names. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Donny Jones. Looking forward to his commitment, just as long as it will make Gman go Chernobyl on us.

What do you mean caught off guard by how unorthodox he’s been? He’s basically assembled the staff exactly as he has at previous stop outside of Phil Snow.
What members of this staff were with him as one of the 10 ACs at Temple & Baylor? I truly don’t know but I don’t think very many.

I was referring that he hires guys that he has connections to generally. Outside of Donnie (blah) and Wagner. All of the guys he’s had some connections with, coached with or played for him.

That’s really not foreign in the coaching world outside of the Saban rehab team. Guys want to coach with people they’re familiar with. Doesn’t happen all of the time, but makes life easier IMO.

I’m guessing that at this stage of the rebuild, Rhule wants guys who are enthusiastic and ambitious and who want to work long hours and will do things the way he wants, so young assistants who he is familiar with is the priority. I can understand that. I could also seen him switching over to more experienced assistant coaches once he’s been here for a while.

Except for our o-lineman coach, Im not sure what to think of that guy. He seems like a fish out of water with this staff.

Ya I know that his been his MO but I guess I wrongly assumed he would assemble more dudes with P5 experience. He is doing it his way, no doubt about it. Again I’m just jaded because anytime we try and rah rah and talk ourselves into these things it never works. If it walks and acts like a duck, then it’s a duck. So many red flags from the Pelini, Frost & Riley eras all turned out to be true. Again, in my opinion, we are seeing some of those red flags come out now. I guess we have to have faith in Rhule that he will correct course and make the necessary adjustments as needed.

I would just laugh at a Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers fan if they were signing these recruits and then at the same time expecting to compete in these “helmet” games. I just can’t add that up in my head because the discrepancy in the Jimmy’s & Joe’s is going to be too great in my opinion. Hopefully the 2025 class will be more competitive with higher end dudes.
Because it’s shaped like a penis…..

Sorry, couldn’t resist
lmao

I agree with what you’re saying. I just think Rhule is different from his predecessors.

I believe it was White who said this spring that Bullock was playing as a DB/safety early in spring, and then was moved to LB and it stuck.
Bullock has made 2 Jojo Domann level plays already in his career. Two years ago in the spring game he straight up murdered a wideout and took the ball from him. Don’t remember the WR but it was right on west sideline on the south end of the field.

In 2021 JSN for Ohio State fielded a punt and went to reverse field and it looked like he was going to house it until Bullock got the ankle and made a ridiculously hard tackle look easy.

I think he can be a pretty good player in certain situations.

Is it just me, or does it feel like we aren't really interested in taking a RB this cycle?

We are running out of spots (IMO) and we don't seem to be in the hunt for many RBs. Our weekend visitor Lacy is considered a strong Ole Miss lean. Does he even actually visit this weekend? Hunter Andrews is another. Is he the back up option if Lacy doesn't go well?

Do we feel like we are set at RB or are we gonna see how the season goes and address it with the portal?
