July recruiting thread

But last time he was here it was kept super secret, would they do the same this time?
It was reported the week leading up to the visit weekend, but yeah it was kept under wraps.
Isn't that weekend mainly for the 2026 class? Booth and VerMaas look like the outliers
As far as I know, this would be the last big recruiting weekend to see him in person prior to his commitment. I suppose he could come in sometime in August prior to the 17th (scheduled commitment date). That just seems unlikely to me.

Division 1 FBS

  • Aug. 1–31, 2024
    • Except for: the 48 hours prior to a home game during August and September 1–2 through the 48 hours after the game. This is a quiet period.

My feeling is that his first commitment will be his last barring a coaching change or something significant.

Click bait on their Instagram site...I'm assuming. Although our class is underwhelming to date...
Is it really though? I know there are rumors and thoughts on Lateef, but we have a 4-star QB paired with a 4-star RB. We missed out (so far) on some of the ELITE OL, but have two very solid OL in Tapu and Kaahaaina-Torres. Tyson Terry and Malcom Simpson are a super solid pairing on the DL. I also think Hammerbeck to end up on the DL. I don't know why, but he reminds me a ton of James Husker Lynch...who Rhule signed at Baylor and is ow currently playing for the Vikings. Things are looking good with Christian Jones and there are rumors with Isaiah Mozee, now that his dad is on staff. I actually really like this class. Right now, the only player that I'm not really excited about is Caden VerMaas....

"Underwhelming to date" is not necessarily a hot take. Missing star power but that's not unexpected given how this staff recruits.

I think striking out with the Gorman guys and Loftin stung but it needs to be kept in perspective. I really think next years class has the chance to be special if Raiola and Nebraska get to 8 wins this year.

Maybe finished inside the top 20 last year raised my expectations too much...
