July recruiting thread

So is that why his kid visited?

Well, this is intriguing.
Where is his son going to play this fall? Is he staying in KC? Was he planning to do that when his dad was in Florida? Did he even live with his dad before all this moving around?

EDIT: Answered by the HOL story: “The move to NU also gets him closer to Kansas City, where his son Isaiah Mozee will finish his senior season for Lee’s Summit North.“

Schaefer strongly hinted Isaiah could be Nebraska-bound this am

Nebraska sits at 15 commitments and the Huskers are likely on the downside of building their 2025 class, making the remaining additions critical in terms of filling needs and building out the rest of the class with some potential key recruits.

Who are some of those recruits and where does Nebraska stand? We're going to take a look during the middle of July as some of these targets have timelines, others may have already committed and some are simply holding off until inspiration strikes them.

Critical target at wide receiver: Isaiah Mozee

It might seem odd to start this series with a receiver that's already committed to another team, but Mozee was committed to Oregon when he visited the Huskers in June and there's something about the way the door has been left open that seems unique.

Mozee visited in June and it was far from the first time the receiver from suburban Kansas City was in Lincoln. Instead he's been here several times since Matt Rhule's arrival and the Huskers have been heavily involved in recruiting the explosive playmaker.

Much like his trips to Kansas and Oregon, Mozee has simply declined to do post-visit interviews, which only adds to the mystery surrounding the trip. One thing we know Mozee enjoys about Nebraska is quarterback Dylan Raiola, who has been on campus for several of those aforementioned visits and would undoubtedly be the signal-caller if Mozee were to flip things in the recruiting process.

The receiver would be Nebraska's top commitment instantly, not just at his position, but also for the class. It would be a strong addition for Nebraska as Mozee would bring real potential to a wide receiver room that has a lot of intriguing pieces, but needs to keep stacking talent. History has shown that it only takes a couple classes of misses for things to snowball at the position.

Why would Mozee move off Oregon? Partially because the Ducks haven't exactly been a stellar outpost of wide receiver draft picks, but then there's also the idea Oregon's class may simply just recruit past the receiver too. They signed quite a few in a 2024 class that finished Top 5 in the country. They've already got five committed in the 2025 class, including several that are more highly rated than Mozee himself.

The Top247 recruit might also want to stay closer to home. It doesn't seem like a coincidence his two visits were to schools right near Kansas City.
