Just once instead of hearing about how much money we have I would like to hear about how broke we are because went out and hired the best coaches and brought in the best players with it instead.

I realize Rhule wants to be a developmental school for coaches and players. But with as many coaching positions that are available now and especially at a school like Nebraska the top coaching positions should always be filled with the best of the best and the secondary positions on down can be filled with the developmental guys. As for the players the 105 has tied his hands on how many developmental players he will be able to carry on the roster now and in the future.
We were supposed to get 3 million from FSU. Seems like we had a nice war chest to go out there and swing for the fences.

It will be interesting to see what we are paying Butler after the crazy overpaying for Satterfield.

God lord- too many taters ITT.

Something nobody brings up- when has Matt Rhule had a bad defense? He is a defensive oriented coach. This infuriates the @sandyvaginacrew.

If it’s fair to whine that JB hasn’t had DC experience ( except for a great job at PSU in 2013), it’s fair to trust Rhule and the hire knowing he has never coached a bad D in college.

Rhule knows defense. You guys do not

Many people don't realize that the Head Coach can coach the team too. Believe it or not, it's absolutely true.

I just said we had A+ recruiters on staff. You're right, maybe not many on D if any. That's needs to be figured out. How many D coordinators are truly A+ recruiters tho? Also have to think about cross recruiters as well. Mozee got us the #8 de from last year and helped with flipping our biggest lb recruit. Just take a deep breath.
Elijah Robinson is one of the top 5 recruiters in the country and is now at Syracuse and has a relationship with Rhule. DC and DL.

Jim Leonhard was a pretty damn good recruiter.

Both were on the board of candidates.

Fuck off with your “take a breath” shit when you’re told your info is wrong. No one is breathing heavy - my comment from the jump was “on the defensive side of the ball”. Great point with Mozee though. Hopefully he can continue to cross.

I’d love to be a developmental coach program once we start winning. Not having one side of the ball be hamstrung by the other, only to go 5-7 or 6-6 annually.

Random copium but at least this means we keep (please leave us alone Simulation) Ceyair Wright. He is a butler guy
The Simulation never leaves us alone….. it’s always planning its next move……. Luring us into a false sense of security.

That would be an absolute wild move by Merritt to do that lol
Merritt interviewed for the 49ers DC position last offseason... big promotion, i know. But it at least tells you he is open to leaving a great position with the chiefs. Its honestly not the craziest possibility in the world to come coach with his son three hours north. He knows Mozee and Bradden.

You can’t tell them anything. This is a gigantic meltdown over nothing. Just laugh

I'm not hitting the panic button yet. Yes, lots of other options were out there, but we all knew Butler was probably going to be the new DC with Tony White leaving for a "head coaching job." I am now curious to see what transfers he can potentially land; if he can land like a Nwaneri, it would sway me more. Also, I don't think Rhule could afford to wait until the NFL offseason for Jim Lenoard, who is with the Broncos with all the transfers leaving Nebraska.

Your avatar screams panic…internally

Decided to poke in on a couple Penn State boards to see what they were saying about Butler. The responses were "lol," "good luck with that," and "Rhule won't make it past year three."

Maybe in this era of college football it's just really hard to hire coordinators?

In this era of college football, head coach buyouts are so huge that schools are willing to try to prop them up with new coordinator hires, so everybody is looking for their next one.

From the people stupid enough to not know children were being raped on their campus and then be told about it and still deny it; I’m glad that they don’t like it.

Who’s board? For all we know Leonard has zero interest in coming back to college football.

Robinson has way less experience than Butler.

I mean their defensive performance under him may have had something to do with the personnel they had left after covering up the systematic rape of children for decades

They promoted him over Larry Johnson and a year later Larry was at Ohio State taking 10 5-stars every season, so probably not fond memories.
