Im playing Whistling Straits (Straits and Irish) on Friday. Any one ever play there?

Personally expecting to get bent over a barrel and shown the 50 states by the straits course

My neighbor just played there a couple weeks ago. He said it was... difficult to say the least.

Interesting listen on the Get A Grip Podcast with Shane Bacon.

Cliffs: interview with David McLay-Kidd who was the architect for Bandon Dunes. He is now in charge of designing Graybull near Maxwell, NE. He says that he believes Nebraska is the best place he has seen in the US for creating golf courses (and more specifically the Sandhills). Thinks there could come a day when there are 15-25 destination golf courses in the Sandhills that would have people making the trek from all over the country, similar to what they do for Bandon, just because of how perfect the landscape is for creating golf courses.

This one's on my list. GrayBull is gonna be sick just like all the other Dormie courses

Played the Straights 20 years ago. Its tough! 18 is really tough took my double bogey and went home. Blackwolf Run the River Course is tough also

I was at the womens amateur at chambers bay earlier in the week. I talked to donu women’s coach, Jeanne Sutherland, for 30mins or so about a range of topics - how do you like working for Turd, what happened to the men’s coach, are you going to get a facility of your own, who’s the next mens hire, etc.

Judd’s name came up, said she really liked him a lot, his dad still teaches a few of her players. Said he hadn’t reached out to her yet, which she was surprised by if he was a candidate as they are pretty good friends.

Anyway, interesting conversation all around. I think a lot of Jeanne, she’s a high profile womens golf coach with stops at aTm, SMU amongst others. She’s about as good as DONU could ever hire as a womens golf coach.

Interesting quote when I asked about a dedicated DONU facility “we’re gonna win either way.”
