Breaking Gilbert arrested last night

More surprised at the coach part iyam. Gilbert was always a question.

Gilbert was definitely a risk. I am sure Rhule knew all his problems on a high-level basis when they took him and in full detail by the time they were going through the waiver process. But apparently he thought they could give him the care he needed to function.

I can't blame Rhule for trying. The kid needed help and structure, and he is/was a truly phenomenal talent

Taking on a risk, whether it’s a recruit/transfer/coach is pretty simple. There are expectations and there are consequences. If Rhule clearly laid those out and adheres to them, we don’t have an issue. What you don’t do, under any circumstance, is what Frost did with Maurice Washington. Wreck your credibility pretty quickly that way.

Yeah I don't blame him for taking a chance on the kid. Georgia staffer could have given him a glowing review on his athletic ability.

Wager getting hired and fired in 6 months doesn't make me question Rhule either. Just guessing but the drinking thing probably wasn't a surprise for Rhule either. Took the chance that an adult with a big chance would make the most of it and be responsible.

And judging from the littany of stuff out there in UGA-land about Gilbert's behavior, I highly doubt any UGA staffer would give AG a 100% positive, glowing endorsement. Maybe w the disclaimer: "I'm referring ONLY to his physical talent now Matt"

I'm sure Rhule knew about every weirdo (& potentially worse) story about Gilbert and decided to take a chance hoping that he was growing out of it. It sounds like legit mental illness though and AG is not growing out of that. If anything it's likely only gonna get worse.

It wasn't only that Rhule likely knew he did lots of weird things. He almost certainly knew Gilbert had been diagnosed with a mental illness as well when he transferred. I doubt he thought it was something Gilbert could outgrow but he instead knew Gilbert would need constant care. He said as much today - he said he had assembled a care team for Gilbert that he thought would prevent problems.

Unfortunately, he is reaching the end of the line regarding his athletic opportunities, and as that comes to an end, he is not likely to maintain the same quality of care he has received with the support of these athletic departments. He may very well navigate this encounter without being incarcerated, but this country's largest mental health providers are LA County Jail, Cook County Jail, and Rikers Island. Regardless of whether this is substance-induced or a primary psychiatric condition, his alienation from athletics would be ominous.

It’s cool and the park is considerably less busy.
Depends on what you want to get out of it.
Our 2 year old gave up on us and we took both kids back home early.

Plenty of candy being given out and can get short lines, I wouldn’t buy a genie+/lightening lane for it unless it’s your only day at magic kingdom.

Not really into taking pictures with characters but I guess there are a ton to do. But they all had a 2 hour wait.
