He's doing a guessing game. He listed a bunch of characteristics of a certain franchise and everybody is supposed to guess the franchise. Winner gets a free month of RRS. 90% of the guesses include naked women. It's excellent theater.

This guy sounds like he was created in a Lab for me to hate him.

Only thing that could make him worse would be if he was an urban cowboy Univ of Texas fan.
(wears a cowboy hat 24/7, drives a jacked up F350, has tons of guns for no reason, hasn’t ever lived outside of a metro that has a larger population than the entire states of Nebraska, Kansas and Wyoming combined. We all know the type)

The shitty thing is is that I've thought about thinking about (not actively thinking about, just thought about thinking about) looking at opening a few different franchises in Northwest Lincoln. So I have questions and I'd like to learn more but the guy comes across as super penisy and I get the feeling that I'd have to pay him for any questions I'd have. There are a couple spots in the Highlands that would absolutely crush it with a variety of stores IMO.

With that said, kudos to him for bucking up and coming back for more despite all the shit he gets on there.

I'm pretty sure he is a poser, I've never heard of him before and no actual businessman (at least successful one) does the stuff this guy apparently does.

All hat, no cattle.

He paid Dean good money I’m sure to sling his “business”… so yeah he’s going to keep coming back. Probably the most random sponsor I’ve ever seen though.

Super random. I didn't even know businesses like his existed.

You've got business owners, accountants, lawyers and house dads (@Baron Winnebago ) , etc on here. Ask away.

Details on the franchise contract you're going to want to get a lawyer/accountant involved anyway.

Don’t forget about insurance/financial advisers. He’s gonna want to get a great term-life policy should he open some franchises, right @Elizabeth Reed ?

That's a good point. One question I have is about politics and 'territories' (?) for franchises. For example if I wanted to open a Jimmy John's and I go to JJ's corporate with a good location and a plan, what's stopping them from taking that idea and handing it over to the guy with a few JJs in Lincoln already. Or do contract areas into territories, one guy gets Lincoln, one guy gets Omaha, one guy gets Kearney, etc.

If a franchisee has purchased the rights to future, additional locations within a market, that could happen. I don’t know if every business does that, although at least some do.

What are you looking at opening up in Highlands / NW Lincoln. I have lived near or worked in Highlands for the last 14 years.

Nothing is stopping them from going to an existing franchisor. Realistically they already know. Maybe timing isn't right. Maybe local Franchisor has constraints for some reason. You're not going to draw attention to an area they don't know about.

All depends on the franchise for territories. Some have formal geographic restrictions others specific distance from another. Others assess as they come up. If you're truly serious about a specific location what I would do first is go to the person that owns the building and get some kind of agreement that you have first right of refusal on a lease. Obviously that will cost something so you want to be sure it's the location you want and research done on what kind of franchise you're going to put in there.

I live in the new Highlands area. Not an area to open up a business. Down south Lincoln yes

I'm not looking at opening anything at the moment, but I've always had my eye on the building next to D'Le's for a food/coffee place. I think they tried to open a drive through grocery store or something there like 7 years ago but it never got off the ground. I used to live at the links and wear a suit every day, then I bought a house in the highlands so I drive by there all the time. The right business in that place would crush IMO. Hell, the flea infested subway has been around since I've lived on this side of town.

I drove past your house today on the way to Casey's and flashed my tits. Weird seeing all the carts sitting outside at the golf course. You'd think they'd have a better place to store them.

This is why I like you Jim

Weird stuff has been happening there lately. A bunch of grey hairs stay up late last night and was driving golf carts around in the freezing cold. Nice btw
