Interestingly i don't think Spearmint Rhino is technically a franchise. They're a partnership which includes each one of the dancers. That way they don't have to put the dancers on payroll and pay payroll taxes.

I also hate when the local populace doesn’t say anything or push back against actions like this simply because they personally agree with the current government action or don’t like the person that is being targeted by the arbitrary laws/enforcement. The ole: I said nothing then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.

You cannot allow Government to violate laws simply because you agree with the current action. You will not always agree with government action, but history has repeatedly shown when: “the law doesn’t matter to the person/party in power” it never turns out well. You can’t allow government to cross that Rubicon. (had to work that in given my avatar pic)

As was the case here with the douche bag’s topless juice bar, as has been the case with what we have witnessed globally for 17 months.

The populace allows the government, not vice versa.

I would define an effective vaccine as preventing measurable infection. 25% may be high in that regard. Therapeutic benefit may still be higher.

I’ll keep it cliff notes

- Harrington made his money running an amateur porn company based out of Lincoln

- he tried to open a strip club in Lincoln but the State denied his Liquor License due to a "conflict" with his existing Lincoln based business... yeah ok

- So he bought a building outside of Grand Island with the intention of turning it into a strip club

- the building was outside of city limits and on the road to becoming condemned, he didn't ask for TIF money (like 99% of developers would) and he didn't buy a vacant lot and build a quick cheap pole barn building (again like 99% of developers would have done)

- he bought the building because its isolated location made it compliant with Grand Island city code (via extraterritorial jurisdiction) and compliant with Hall County Code

- community proceeds to go Footloose on him, they learned their lesson when they allowed Dr Johns to open in the gas station on the edge of town.... NEVER AGAIN! Grand Island was a wonderful place prior to that Dr Johns and now its Juarez/Baghdad/Chicago. SMH

- So, elected officials riding a wave of public opinion begin denying every request he made (minor zoning variances, minor road access work that he would pay for, building permits, etc etc)

- "but still he persisted"

- eventually the State saved the good townsfolk from this evil doer and denied his liquor license

- so he decided to make it a Juice Bar, come in... pay for a $12 V8 and don't forget to tip your waitress

- he was getting picketed in GI and the constant media attention made abandon the location and instead switch to Seward

- Plan was to open a Juice Bar in Seward but only partial nudity due to existing city code

- Seward follows same playbook as GI and stalls him from opening his business

- eventually the money he has spent (and debt accrued) is too great for a man generating no revenue

- he has to sell it all at a huge loss and lost over a million dollars



Local Government arbitrarily enforcing laws because of personal beliefs.

Local Government intentionally stalling approvals to bleed a citizen dry.

Local Government creating ex post facto esk laws to retroactively target a citizen.

Local Government turning down a citizen from converting worthless near condemned property into a tax revenue generator because the Bible told me so.

PS: if anybody reading this doesn't know who I am, I am a Conservative... but this was bullshit. I bet Hall County/GI, Seward and the NE Liquor Commission gave out 100+ variances or approvals of conflicts that year alone. If the Government doesn't have to follow the law why should citizens?
