Thunder Collins
My gut said “NO WAY!” Then looked up stats - I remember him as way more of a staple than he actually was. So…

I was in HS when Strickland was at BW. That guy was the type of athlete that whatever sport he wanted to focus on he'd be a professional.

Was all-state in football as a SO then decided to do basketball/baseball. Played in the NBA in one, Minor League Baseball in the other.
Strickland with Frost and his new look -

I wonder if Deangelo Evans should be on this list. He did contribute as a freshman, then disappeared. So much hype
almost 1200 yards and 18 TDs makes it TOUGH. 850 of those as a freshman...but breaking Barry Sanders' records in high school calls for more than 1200 yards over 4 years...so, fuck it...

St Alberts legend Mike Stuntz
damn right walter white GIF by Breaking Bad

Ronald Thompkins

It's between Adam Taylor, the RB from Texas, who never contributed or the 'he's still young but will grow' OT from Canada, David Knevel.
Taylor and Thompkins were guys I really thought highly of and were excitied about.

Jared Afalava was the first name that came to my mind for this thread. I thought he was going to be a stud LB.

Here's a few, some contributed more than others:

Robin Miller - there were comparisons to him being the next Mike Rozier
Leon Jackson - thought he was gonna be a stud
Octavious McFarlin - loved the name, he was a LB and was part of our old three-man punt return formation
Javario Burkes - RIP
Mike Mcloughlin (sp?) - QB that came in with Stuntz
Frantz Hardy - showed flashes
Erwin Swinney - never the same after his hip surgery or torn groin, whatever issue he had
Lornell McPherson - a solid nickel
Kareem Moss - great contributor in '94
Jay Simms - physical specimen

whatever happened with Evans? Did he get kicked off team?

Anyone have a former/current Husker you thought would be awesome that never panned out but you still loved regardless?

Mine - Frankie London

I was always convinced he was going to pop off at some point, for some reason. Then switches to WR and has a total of 1 yard rushing/receiving his senior year. Didn't matter - still top 10 husker all time in my book.
Frank Solich……….yore welcome. 😎

Injuries if I recall. Couldn't help but get hurt. According to something I looked up, after his injuries he quit, wanted to come back, but Solich said no thanks and the Unity Council agreed.
