Anyone else in Lincoln for the Great Blizzard of ‘97? It was an October snowstorm so all of the trees still had their leaves. Absolutely destroyed campus.
I lived in Lincoln then. There were so many power outages across town that LPS got the entire week off, which was amazing.

I was a student at UNL, and there was a rumor that if UNL did not have class at least 3 days in a week, then Nebraska would not be eligible to play that week.

I have no idea if that was the reason that the school was reopened when it was.

Was a great week of parties. My house was out of power for a week. All my fishes died.

RE: Tonight’s Omaha-area (a.k.a. "Swimtown") forecast. One the Noon news broadcast, Kaitlin Harvey of Channel 7 declared that “up to 3” hail is possible with these isolated storms - the size of an apple - and we cannot rule out a tornado or two. Not everyone will see the storms, but those that get them have a chance for severe storms."

Her prognostication had most of the storms north of the Omaha metro area, but still.

Expected to fire up around 6 p.m., as an FYI.
