So I managed to get my dogs out this morning around 5 am in the Omaha area and it was just rain mostly. Been thundering and lightning the last two hours since then. Just looked back outside and it had snowed.

Maybe I've forgotten the past, but snow and thunder usually don't go together.

Had to come pick up the fiancée from work this morning. Roads are dog shit. There’s like 2 inches of slush so far.

Ran half my neighborhood on the dog walk this morning because we started getting pelted with sleet after a light rain and wind for half of it. Was not enjoyable.

I don't ever remember thundersnow growing up or even up to a few years ago. Seems like in Lincoln we've had it at least once per year in the last 5 years. Our last Blizzard a few weeks ago we had it too.

I live in NE Nebraska on our farm, nearly all the towns around me lost power today including my parents in town. I’m amazed that I never lost power and so many other places did. Had a lot of people in my area texting each other and sharing pictures and videos of power poles snapped off and power lines downed. Haven’t seen anything like this since I was a kid. I have wireless internet and it just now came back on.
