Sign Up Now!Admit it, Carm. You wish you were a Boogie Woogie bugle boy from Company B!I feel out of place in this thread because Dad music to me is Glenn Miller on scratchy 78s.
I can't listen to a large quantity of swing, but I get why my Dad liked it.
How old are you? were you around when the earth cooled? did you and Methuselah hang out?I feel out of place in this thread because Dad music to me is Glenn Miller on scratchy 78s.

In the early 80's there was a gang of roughly 20 of us that all hung out and partied together (mostly at the 18th Amendment Saloon off of 82nd & Center). The lads listened to a lot of The Cars and the lasses listened to the Bangles. Made for some great road trip battles on trips to Lake Okaboji, Lake McConaughy, etc.The CARS are great. Was not a huge fan in the late 70s but appreciate the greatness now!

The LAST time I saw The Cars in concert was at - of all places - the Nebraska State Fair. Todd Rundgren had joined them as lead singer following the departure of Ric Ocasek (may he RIP), and musically they were still tight AF.
I got to Swimtown in '92 thanks to the Air Force. Partied a lot at 18th, sneak-a-leak's were awesome! Also remember a strip club out off Dodge at like 120th or something like that...thought that was WAY out west. Little Feat’s Dixie Chicken is a great song!
