Jumping off a cruise ship to save a kid is heroic. Allowing a 5 year old to fall off a cruise ship is bad parenting, in just about every conceivable way.

I don't know if jumping off was heroic. as soon as the kid fell off his choices were to either jump in after them, or go tell his wife he just let their kid fall in the open ocean

he might have jumped in for his own survival

Been about 7 months since our Disney Cruise, but I’m about 99% sure I remember a large sign near our “back porch’s railing of our room saying basically dont be stupid near the railing. Saw this story and that was my first thought.
