Sign Up Now!I believed him at first.Urban loved Scott
And we’re big?
The Duval love always puzzled me. It was apparent from the jump that our guys were going to end up slow, lack explosiveness, and generally wouldn't be able to move for shit. Our fan base is so cringey. Half of them haven’t even looked at their roster. “They look small”
Same people jizzing when Duval was packing 40 pound on guys “finally we are putting together a big ten sized roster”
Fast forward and now our current S&C staff is cutting the weight off guys like crazy. Same fans- “Guys are looking slim and in shape out there” “Bout time we had a real S&C staff”
We were so weak with Riley though. It was one extreme to another. The Duval love always puzzled me. It was apparent from the jump that our guys were going to end up slow, lack explosiveness, and generally wouldn't be able to move for shit.
Eichorst meddling was the problem under Riley. He went so far as to dictate what type of lifts could be done iircWe were so weak with Riley though. It was one extreme to another.
So many stories out there. Eichorst meddling definitely seemed like a problem but I highly doubt that anything to do with them being weak.Eichorst meddling was the problem under Riley. He went so far as to dictate what type of lifts could be done iirc

Eichorst and Pelini got into a lot behind closed doors because Pelini wouldn’t make changes Eichorst wanted implemented in weight training and practice.I doubt that though.
I used to work w P5 ADs in my previous career and I can say pretty confidently that none of them know jack shit about lifting, nor would they even try. It'd be like you or me instructing someone on the Greek language.
Even an ex player like Turd probably has no clue. His lifting knowledge is 25 yrs old at this point.
(Not trying to throw shade, just saying that's highly unlikely)
There were a lot of stories of Eichorst handcuffing Riley too.Eichorst and Pelini got into a lot behind closed doors because Pelini wouldn’t make changes Eichorst wanted implemented in weight training and practice.
Eichorst thought he was a money ball type ad … he knew what changes the program needed to do in the day to day. Riley let him control more than he should

That's way overstepping your bounds as an AD, wow. Every AD I've known has been 99.5% businessman w a little educator mixed in, no knowledge of weight training trends etc.Eichorst and Pelini got into a lot behind closed doors because Pelini wouldn’t make changes Eichorst wanted implemented in weight training and practice.

Iirc the biggest thing he pushed on Riley was the rugby style tackling in practice to limit injuries(liabilities the university would have to pay) and reps players could do in weight lighting(again largely a liability aspect). But also he thought he was a visionary; was such a recluse and love to read. Thought he was installing new trends that would take over college football. That's way overstepping your bounds as an AD, wow. @ChocaEgg i stand corrected
Pretty much everyone uses Rugby style tackling today...Iirc the biggest thing he pushed on Riley was the rugby style tackling in practice to limit injuries(liabilities the university would have to pay) and reps players could do in weight lighting(again largely a liability aspect). It could’ve been the 3rd party company they used to teach and instruct rugby style tackling that sucked. I know they terminated the agreement. I’d have to ask but he was trying to do stupid shit with the rugby aspect.Pretty much everyone uses Rugby style tackling today...
