It really is amazing that people are still out saying stuff like this:

And Sanders is quote teeeting it:

There are people out there who do badly want to hold Sanders up as some great leader and father figure of (black) young men that they are going to believe what they want despite all the stories coming out to the contrary.

"Father that he always wanted in his own life."

So he's only showing up when he absolutely needs to and if it brings him more money?

Watched “PRIME” on Amazon, both seasons, you can tell it’s all scripted. When Lewis got demoted, coach Douche-on played it off as he was going to demote him for a while and now was the time. BS…

it was great to see the fall from grace and how he turned everything to “it’s on you coaches, players, YOU are the ones that need to fix this“ hahaha

I am honestly looking for a little less Deion in my life. The constant media barrage is excruciating

This is not intended to really defend Prime, but the shit we see on TV and social media is basically what his contract dictates. CU couldn't afford to pay him the money to come there in the first place, so his contract is basically him making money by promoting the program/himself.

(From an article) The breakdown for Sanders’ salary in 2023 is detailed below:
  • $500,000 in base salary
  • $1.75 million for radio, television, and public appearances
  • $1.75 million for promotion and fundraising
  • $1.5 million for the development of the student-athlete
So, basically $3.5 million of his $5.5 million comes from non-football related tasks. The reason he is doing all the interviews, the Prime series, the commercials, etc is because that is the only way he is getting paid. He is basically using his name, combined with the CU logo, to get the money owed to him in his contract.

You can compare his contract to Rhule's with the links below, but Rhule's doesn't have any specific breakdown like that of Deion's listed.

Sweet. He's getting paid shit to treat the CU program like his stepping stone for his personality and his sons.

I think it's hilarious that the CU athletic department basically had to turn themselves into a prostitute in order to afford the guy who's going to use & abuse them.

The crazy thing is it could end as a net positive for them if Deion can get to 7-5 or better this year. Yeah, he'll leave and all the talented skill position players will leave with him. But the university benefitted from way more publicity than it would have gotten normally if it would have hired another Karl Dorrell clone.

It all comes down to the hire they make post Deion. That AD needs to have his top 5 locked and loaded right now because Deion is gonna be gone come Dec 2024. Maybe Jan if they make a bowl game.

CU is the prostitute in this scenario but as insane as it is, this could end up better for them than if they just continued hiring Mike Macintyre/Karl Dorrell types and they kept going 3-9. Prime might help them get a better HC in 2025 than they would've gotten.

I get the trepidation that Deion will go back to being a network talking head, what I don’t understand is that people actually watch these shows still.

I stopped watching about 10 years ago. I watch games only and that’s it. College and pro. If I want more, I hang out here.

I don't watch them but that's mainly because Nebraska is irrelevant now and we're never mentioned (for anything other than losing).

I would LIKE to watch these shows if Nebraska starts getting into top 10 games that actually mean something. I'd probably only watch the FOX show since ESPN has annoying people.

plz just beat the brakes off of these buffoons next year

If everyone remembers last Spring and Summer, I predicted Colorado would beat Nebraska. Everyone thought I was nuts. I felt like Colorado, with zero depth, would still be pretty competitive in week 2, while Rhule was making a colossal error trusting Jeff Sims. I believe things will flip next September.

Colorado will travel to Nebraska on September 7th. That's the same day Michigan hosts Texas. FOX is going to blow their wad all over the Big Ten securing the rights to the Texas @ Michigan game for the Big Noon Kickoff.

That means Colorado at Nebraska will either be a CBS or NBC night game. It will be a hot ticket, and Memorial Stadium will be out for blood similar to the Miami game in 2014.

I think Nebraska is going to kick the ever living shit out CU that night and Memorial Stadium is going to go Full Throat in a way we haven't seen in a decade.

I mean, maybe there is a group of players that Sanders is very hands on with and serving as a mentor and father figure and that’s where these stories are coming from, but from all accounts, it appears to be a very small fraction of the team that gets that treatment.

Not gonna lie. Many Americans fall for the facade vs. reality.

fuck me, the kiss of death

But the lefties in the media claim racism if you speak out against Prime in anyway lol

No they don’t. It’s just the few talking heads are amplified by the Conservative tabloids so that simpletons are easily confused.
Yeah I don’t think the Prime phenomenon can just be slid into the culture wars so easily, especially when a huge part of his schtick is being a loud and proud religious guy
