What's the plan? Bought a small prime rib roast and found a whole frozen pheasant I'm going to do something with. First time cooking pheasant, should be interesting. Trying not to not overcook my beef like I did with the Wellington last year.

Cook the pheasant like chicken fried steak. Cut the breast thin, tenderize, bread and then fry. Thank me later.

Went pheasant hunting in SD with my son and some friends from college (and their sons) in November, and one of the guys from the hunt shared his Grandma's pheasant recipe. A couple of the guys have already tried it (I have not) and swear it's the best pheasant they've ever eaten. From their table to yours, Grandma Gladys' recipe:

Grandma Gladys' Secret Pheasant Recipe
  • Completely deboned pheasant-dusted in flour - brown in a skillet with olive oil.
  • For every pheasant, use a pint of heavy whipping cream. Place browned birds and cream in a crock pot.
  • Add sliced mushrooms, onion, green pepper AND ONE DICED TART APPLE into the crock pot.
  • Let cook for at least 6 hours.
  • Eat over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
  • The apple is the key, they will turn slightly sweet and bring out the taste of the pheasant...and after all, isn't that the point?

We’re going the seafood route this year. Oysters on the half shell, yellowtail sashimi, crab dip, then bluefin steaks with crab legs.

Cant fucking wait
