Does that mean a defender could just fake an injury if they stopped them and get a free timeout? (With the 10 second runoff)

I was yellling if from the first down play so it wasn’t hindsight for me, they weren’t trying to break one. They just wanted to burn clock. Literally all you had to do was kneel and punt you are already basically at midfield no reason to gain yards to pin them deep

Yeah I have no idea why it wouldn’t start on ready for play in that situation. What a dumb rule. You’d think yes basically 10 seconds and a free timeout to take an injury.

I bet this rule gets changed in the off season.
