CFB Expansion Talk

If the B12 dissolves, and Kansas, Oklahoma and Cockeyes lite go to a G5 conference it will help our recruiting in the 500 mile radius.

I mean, everything is on the table right? Maybe the leftovers will invite NDSU, SDSU and South Dakota to a watered down conference - kidding. Sort of.
Yup. And there will be good players on those teams who will want to transfer out.

I think a situation like that, and a division like that, would give Nebraska big advantages. Plus you've got the 12 team college football playoff on the horizon, not to mention NIL.

If Nebraska becomes a strong program again, we would own our 500 mile radius, and if we are in a division with Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, then we would be able to control those regions as well. Take a couple 4* from Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona every year, and then fill out teh rest of teh class with guys from Florida, the 500 mile radius. We would be in a strong position.

Rumor on Reddit about Ed Stewart turning down the AD job to be next in line for Big 12 Commissioner.

Ed and Pollard really fucked themselves.

In hindsight we might be better off, but yes they did if they turned down opportunities to interview or consider an offer. I still laugh at Pollard's public statement while he patted us on the head with a thanks, but no thanks.

Time will tell, but the early returns have been impressive with Turd. Especially his PR and communication skills. Good AD -- hopefully good coaches when the time comes to hire.

A guy who is connected said Turd was the 4th or 5th choice. I agree sometimes the secondary choice is better. Hell Pete Carroll was the 6th choice if I remember right at USC.

I think its clear Turd was at best Plan C or D, based on timing and how many times Green said "Turd was the only candidate we interviewed".

Agree with it not being a bad thing, especially given the stupid fucking decisions Nebraska administrators have made for 20 years.

I'm pretty sure Oklahoma isn't going to a G5 conference. 😘

Pollard will get other opportunities if ISU gets left out. I wonder if exploring his interest was somewhat connected to being aware of the Big Ten’s future move. That’s if the big ten rejected Oklahoma due to AAU & being aware of what’s going down with the PAC-12

I think the implication is not so much about any realistic chance of Ohio State or Michigan joining, but rather that the SEC is reaching out to just about every top tier program at this point. Looking for enough leverage to tell the NCAA to piss off, perhaps...

We would get the financial benefits and the stability of the Big 10, plus a division that would could win every year. Plus we could start recruiting in Arizona again. Utah and Colorado recruiting might improve too. And instead of going to Wisconsin for an away game we would be going to Arizona or Utah or Colorado, or driving down to Kansas.
Definitely feels like a win win all around. Where do we sign? Or did Kevin Warren mess it up already?

They might have reached out but I think if it’s true, it confirms SEC trying to consolidate football powers on a national level. Big Ten/PAC 12 schools would have to unite, best case scenario for our league is a NFC-AFC situation
