Had an old classmate get killed at Tecumseh. He killed his mom and was serving a life sentence. His mom of course had killed his dad, so it was all very functional at the Mitchell household…..
I was doing some work at Jon Bokenkamp’s parents house and his mom use to work at YRTC in Kearney as a teacher. She said she taught 80 percent of the men who are on death row in Tecumseh. She said her hubby told her wasn’t very good at her job. She had some pretty good stories.

Prosecutor asks judge for no bond based on information in a sealed affidavit
AUBURN - A county court judge set a $1 million bond Tuesday for a former sports writer accused of first degree sexual assault of a child.
Brian Rosenthal, 49, of Lincoln is charged with four counts that carry a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum of 15 years.
Deputy Nemaha County Attorney Angelo Ligouri asked Judge Curtis Maschman to set no bond for Rosenthal's release. He referenced an affidavit, which has been sealed by the court. He said it contains allegations of assaults in separate counties.
Court records Tuesday morning do not indicate any criminal complaints outside of Nemaha County.
Judge Maschman noted that Rosenthal has no felony convictions and set the bond at $1 million. He gave instructions that Rosenthal have no contact with the alleged victim.
Rosenthal told the court he will be requesting a public defender. An Aug. 18 court hearing is scheduled.

I spoke with our District Judge (Urbom) last summer and he said he would retire as soon as all of his big docket trials were done (this was during the Covid stop on all trials) because the upcoming 2021 docket.
On top of the insanely backed up Criminal cases from 2020 this Summer he had 2 murders and the human trafficking ring.... all in 1 summer. Sure enough the Monday after the last defendant was sentenced he called Pete Rickets and told him he had sent his letter of resignation effective Aug 31.
